Phil Murphy declared no in-person voting this year. If you show up in-person you'll be given a provisional ballot, which is much easier to conveniently not count for whatever reason. But on the mail-in ballot documentation, it says we can go in person to the county offices in Paterson (where they just had a ridiculously fraudulent election this summer) and submit the ballot to the Clerk's office with our photo ID. This sounded great because there's no way they can refuse to count the ballot if we give ID, right? We went to do this yesterday and the office REFUSED TO ACCEPT OUR BALLOTS AT ALL. We were directed to use the dropbox outside the building. We tried to insist, pointed out where it said on the damn envelope that we could turn it in here with our ID, but the lady said this was only in the absence of a dropbox. The ballot still hasn't been accepted in the tracking system, and to be honest both of us feel that our state has disenfranchised us. I know that a vote for GEOTUS in NJ is more symbolic than anything else, but I wanted to make it less of a landslide. Fuck Phil Murphy.
