I was going to be sarky but, that looks a very interesting article.
As a computing guy, this end-of-the-world stuff has left me clicking my heels.
Would you believe that one of the reasons I stalled learning machine learning (AI), was because I didn't want my solutions to fuel this dark, technocratic future?!
You just reminded me - I started getting gnarly feelings about creating mathematical dimensions in computing, when all of the math symbols turned out to have arcane roots.
Basically, programming is akin to casting a spell, an incantation.
Can't find it lately but, the extinction rebellion logo really set me off - dark roots.
And, the peace symbol (CND) - it's official (wikipedia) origins are a fabrication. It is an upside-down peace symbol. It means war, the diametric opposite of peace.
Yes.

Yep.
When I was a child, I wanted to learn what the scientist had scribbled over 3 chalkboards. It was another language, and full of knowledge.
Now, when I think of that scientist, I think of Getafix the Druid, from Asterix the Gaul.
