They spent months terrifying their own base about how going outside wasn’t safe. They spent months convincing them to vote by mail.

As of last week, virus fear was a partisan issue. A poll showed just 5% of D’s feel safe with the virus, and are willing to resume normal life. Republican numbers are much higher than that.

We can logically conclude that if a D doesn’t vote early, he may miss Election Day voting out of fear. A R will show up at the polls. Sprinkle in the fact that D’s missed their mark of mail ins by ~10%.

As always, great job D’s.

So true. I would swim through a lake of COVID after crawling over broken glass to vote for Trump. Nothing will stop me from voting on election day, like the constitution intended. There should be no early or mail in voting. Show up or don't vote. People died for you to vote; why should it necessarily be easy?

For some reason, having a single national election day (with provisions for excuse-based absentee ballots) worked just fine until 1980, when California allowed no-excuse absentee ballots. Once again, California leads the way to a place where early voting is a huge liability to the election process.
