After working for UPS for almost 2 decades I can almost guarantee these documents were shipped in the next day saver envelope. They are routinely lost in conveyor housings, under belts or sort tables or thousand other places throughout the warehouse. Always ship important documents in a box it's worth knowing your package will arrive.
Probably realized there were copies especially after this hit the news. So they were “located” probably due to someone saying “oh shit”.
This is VERY interesting. A broken chain of custody? Who knows what happened to those documents...leaks??
If it's a legit crime, now we know where the crime took place. What group of staff is responsible, and who to question.
