Where I will agree that the military in and of itself is America's great socialist experiment it is also the big red pill. I have done this shit for nearly 20 years. Extreme majority of people i have met and talked with about these subjects have been conservative not that that matters to any of us. While you are in all you are concerned with is your work associates. They can't be fired. Hard to move them to another work place if you disagree. Politics is rarely even up for conversation. It's best just to do what you do and carry on.
In the few chances it does come up I dole out the redpills like its my job.

Okay -- so can you give me any reason someone can be in the military for decades and retire without having a clue what's going on? I'm not kidding when I say my brother-in-law is a total ignoramus. He was visiting us from out of state and I asked him about a planned demonstration in his state. He jumped down my throat and told me I didn't know what I was talking about and bad mouthed Trump telling me how everyone in the milatry hated him.
Two weeks later -- those demonstrations occurred as I said they would, turned into rioting, and it was the anti-fa, BLM, Biden voters.
So I don't know if my BIL is just an idiot or what?
Any explanation I would give on your brother in law would be a silly attempt at clairvoyance. He's uninformed or he just wants to feel a certain way. Being military does not make him a saint just please avoid calling military in general a hivemind as it is untrue.
It's a good practice to avoid attributing any hivemind mentality to any group except of course the name given to a hive-minded group.
