Did you have to show ID? I just realized my driver’s license is expired! I’m going to the same place I always vote (for the last 16 or so years) and I am registered, but I’m freaking out now because I need to get my license renewed and I think I have to show my freaking birth certificate and social security and I CAN FIND NEITHER!!! FUCK! I’m so pissed at myself! I’ve got four people I’m taking to vote with me (two are first time Trump voters), but now I might not be able to vote, and it’s my fault.

But, I read online that if you are voting at the same polling station you have voted at before, then you do not need to show ID. Is this true? Can anyone confirm? Obviously, I’m for Voter ID laws, but if Cooper cycled out and you don’t have to show ID, then at least it will benefit one Trump supporter, as opposed to all the voter fraud I’m sure the democrats will be committing. Anyways, thanks for any info! I will not be able to live with myself if I screwed up and can’t vote again for the greatest POTUS ever!

You do not need to show ID in North Carolina if you have voted in the state before

I have not voted in the state before and I did not have to show ID.

No. I whipped out my wallet and the gentleman said it wasn't necessary. Just asked me my name and then asked me to verify my address verbally. I was disappointed.

They print out a sticker/tag with your info on it including your voting district and then you go over to some rather open and totally not private AT ALL non-booths where you tap with a pen/stylus that they give you and you get to keep (I assume all of NC is the same, but I may be wrong in that assumption). It's this year's 'I voted' sticker. Instead of a sticker or pin you get to keep that.

The idea is that it helps against covid spread 🙄

Best,
