Alright pedes, I've crunched the economic data and contrary to what Joe Hiden and the innumerate Democrat Party suggests, Trump did not "mishandle the pandemic."

Unlike CNN, I actually cited my sources (official government estimates). I also didn't make the mistake of conflating annualized GDP with quarterly GDP growth that many fake news "journalists" make (omg the Canadian economy shrunk 30%!).

UK

https://www.ons.gov.uk/economy/grossdomesticproductgdp/bulletins/gdpmonthlyestimateuk/august2020

Don't know what their "monthly index" is, other than the fact it allows comparing GDP from month to month.

  • January 2020: 101.7
  • August 2020: 92.1
  • Result: -9.4% GDP growth from start of year

Germany

  • Q1: -2%
  • Q2: -9.7%
  • Result: -11.3% from Q2 2019 (see link)

France

https://www.insee.fr/en/statistiques/4647984

  • Q1: -5.9%
  • Q2: -13.8%
  • Result: -18.9% from start of year

Bad News: more lockdowns for Germany and France...

https://www.ibtimes.com/france-germany-head-towards-lockdown-virus-surges-europe-3071664

Canada

https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/t1/tbl1/en/tv.action?pid=3610010301 Some of the headlines suggest Canada had laxer lockdowns compared to Europe

  • Q4 2019: $2.33 trillion CAD
  • Q1 2020: $2.28 trillion CAD (-2.2%)
  • Q2 2020: $1.99 trillion CAD (-1.3%)
  • Result: -14.6% GDP drop from start of year

Unemployment

https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/t1/tbl1/en/tv.action?pid=1410028703

Joe Hiden loved blaming Trump for all the unemployed Americans. Does Trudeauistan do any better?

September 2020: 9.0%

USA

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/GDP

  • Q4 2019: $21.75 Trillion
  • Q1: $21.56 Trillion
  • Q2: $19.520 Trillion
  • Q3: $21.16 Trillion
  • Result: -2.7% GDP growth

Bonus: Unprecedented recovery

https://www.bea.gov/sites/default/files/2020-10/hist3q20_adv.pdf

Notice how for the quarterly GDP growth column there's an empty space for both "last period with equal value" and "last period with greater value"??? That's because this quarter's recovery is literally unprecented.

Bonus 2: Unemployment higher in "blue states"

Yes we might be the United States, but the Constitution (the thing Joe Briben wants to destroy) gives states a lot of power to run their own economies, and many blue states are doing significantly worse than average.

National unemployment

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/UNRATE September: 7.9%

Unemployment by states

https://www.bls.gov/web/laus/laumstrk.htm

Here's the worst 6 states, many of which are run almost entirely by Democrats:

  • New York: 9.7%
  • Illinois: 10.2%
  • Rhode Island: 10.5%
  • California: 11.0%
  • Nevada: 12.6%
  • Hawaii: 15.1%!!!

SHARE THIS WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY!

And don't make stupid fake news mistakes like conflating real w/ nominal GDP, annualized with quarterly growth, etc. Remember these numbers when Joe Hiden talks about locking down the economy again.
