This isn’t surprising, as moral relativism breeds chaos. Everyone makes their own morality since there’s no transcendent moral law — and people don’t do a good job at that. Progressivism is the outworking of atheistic thought. If you’re having doubts, I’d highly recommend Frank Turek’s book “I Don’t Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist”.
The tiring thing is we have been over all of this but our education system has failed us. The foundation of our country is Judaeo-Christian and as Kierkegard said there is no freedom without law
Majored in it dipshit. Oh, and I'm not Hispanic either but keep talking out of your angry ass. Remind me the part of the constitution where it says you must be Christian to live here. Also, I am Christian but many people who MAGA with us are not.
Well if you want to get technical, it was founded by Christians who were persecuted by other Christians and recognized the importance of religious freedom
Not true. We get our moral compass from Jesus and the New Testament not the Old Testament (Torah) and Moses. In Jesus' time, the jews did not agree with what he said, and he changed many of the laws and punishments for sins and crimes. (Abolishment of Kosher, Abolishment of stoning, Mixed cloths allowed, sacrifices etc.) Perhaps, the Jews and Christians have similar values now, but that would mean that the Jews adopted Christian values not the other way around.
Yes, that is true, but fulfilling the law and scripture meant that many of the previous laws of Moses were twisted and perverted, and they were to be fixed by Jesus. I guess he didn't change the law as much as clarified the law, sorry for the confusion.
This is not exactly correct. the old Jewish law wasn't twisted or perverted...it was what a perfect God required of man to be with Him i.e. perfection. And then, because no one was perfect it required sacrifice after sacrifice to pay for their sins thus an imperfect sacrifice. The giving of this law was to show man that on their own due to their depravity they could never fulfill it Individually or as a nation and therefore there was nothing that man could do to be with God. Thus why God sends Jesus to live out the entire Jewish law (thus fulfilling it) and slain as a sacrifice in our place to pay for our sins. So its not that the old law is no longer in place (and Jesus most certainly presented new ways of thinking about the old laws), its just that we dont have to worry that if we break it we will be unable to be with God because Jesus has lived the perfect life that we couldnt and paid the price in our place so that if we acknowledge that and accept him as our savior we can be with God despite us being law breakers.
In other words, it's not so much that kosher was and stoning was abolished, just that we don't have to do that anymore because we have a perfect sacrifice.
Not the same thing. Nowhere in the ten commandments does it mention sacrifices or stoning or kosher. The ten commandments are not laws, they are commandments. The ten commandments teach how to worship god properly and how to act, the laws of Moses were a code of laws. Although Moses' laws were based on the ten commandments, they are not the same, Moses' laws are not applicable to modern christians. Not being rude, but you might want to do some more research.
dude you have no idea what you are talking about. Read some Thomas Aquinas, the nature of the moral law is that by definition it cannot change over time. The ceremonial and judicial laws were fulfilled by Christ and do not apply anymore. The moral law is forever.
You should refrain from posting on theological matters until you do a little more studying. The Christian religion does not refute the Old Testament (what you are calling the laws of Moses) or claim it was twisted. All 613 commandments are in the Old Testament.
Christian Ideology believes they no longer have to all be adhered to, but not because it was "twisted"
You are missing the picture of what people mean when they say Judeo/ Christian values. There are a few mistakes you are making.
You are focusing on the differences between Christianity and Judaism, without looking at the bigger picture of the world and society that predated Judaism. Yes their are differences between Judaism and Christianity, but they are a world away from society that predated them, and have influenced civilization so heavily, that you have a hard time picturing a society without them.
In Judaism, there is a difference between commandments given to Jews, and Jewish values that are considered fundamental to all of society.
In the Jewish belief, a non-Jew, can be a righteous person even without adhering to all of the commandments. Those additional commandments were not about morality, and where only intended for Jews to adhere to.
The examples you cited, Kosher, Mixed Clothes were never required of society at large. Stoning, is a punishment, not a commandment (not unlike the death penalty), it was only meant to be used during the time of the temple, and even then, very sparingly (based on different interpretations in the Talmud, it averaged either once every 7 years, or once every 70 years).
To summarize, their is a significant difference (at least in Judaism), between the commandments given to the Jewish People, and the moral values of the religion
Dude, as a fellow pede your theology is really messed up and off base from the scripture. Have you read your Bible from front to back and researched Biblical history as well as early Christian church history? As someone who is reading my Bible from cover to cover for the 3rd time, there are so many things you’ve written that are completely off base and it makes you sound dumb (I don’t think you are dumb but you just sound like it). It also might be an age thing, you could be a 15 year old, who knows? I would study some more and understand the context, don’t just listen to what your pastor says, take some time to read and study the entire Bible for yourself.
But mostly leftists have to fucking ruin everything they touch whether it's atheism, libertarianism even music. The only sub l visited was the Doom Metal sub. Doom is usually written in purple on black as an homage to Black Sabbath, these fucking faggets took the word Doom and replaced it by BLM in purple on black as the header of the sub. Seriously fuck them.
I have a gay friend who hates liberals now because he's a regular guy who hunts, fishes and plays golf, but he's gay, you just couldn't tell. He's pissed that now he has to be associated with all these freaky trannies alphabets with clown makeup and blue hair.
The fact that leftists can have such a strong impact on what is considered societal norms, argues against those who claim that religion is not necessary to maintain a moral society
I've always felt that one can believe in the existence of moral relativism, that different people have different ethics, while still having your own code.
I acknowledge that people think it's ethical to behead infidels, and I fucking reject it.
Well, it's hard to judge your position since you jumped in late, but . . . probably the people who produced the lower set of pictures would argue they are doing that too, right?
That would be infringing on their freedom to live their lives, so no. The "get away with it" is long gone from consideration, whether that be because of logic or evolution or instinct or common sense or conscience or whatever - the code is "my freedom relies on my preservation of the freedom of others." Or, better, my code is best because it is a code that, if followed by everyone, creates only happiness for everyone. That's not to say there is no unhappiness, but that the code is not responsible for that unhappiness.
If I sat down and thought long and hard about it, I could add "unless I can get away with it" back in. But then we're talking about me making a conscious effort to work against my innate-at-this-point behavior.
So I'm gonna have to clarify some definitions here to answer that. A Republican party member may be either a RINO, an economic conservative, a traditional Conservative, or some combination of the above. These (I mean, apart from RINO) are right-wing values - economical growth and honoring tradition.
Libertarianism is the celebration of freedom - this is neither right nor left wing, it is "south" or "down", and is opposed to Authoritarianism. Both Right and Left wings can go either Liberal or Authoritarian. The current Left wing in America is unbelievably authoritarian.
The current motion of the "Republican Party" puts it very safely Right and Below Center - conservative libertarianism.
In addition to that, President Trump is the absolute best libertarian candidate who's ever existed. He's for equality, he's for freedom, he's for avoiding unnecessary involvement in foreign international affairs. And as soon as there's a hint of his libertarian side being taken advantage of, the boot comes down fast and decisively. There will be freedom, and those who wish to partake are welcome. Those who wish to harm our freedoms are not.
Long answer short - I'm voting Republican because the Republicans are Libertarian.
laughs in one year in prison for burning flag which isn't hurting anyone and also strong border in which some illegals are peaceful and do not hurt anyone
Are you saying there's currently, or plans to create, a one-year imprisonment for flag burning? I'd argue that is a declaration of war against the flag in question. Wartime enemies are no longer letting me live my life in peace, so "live and let live" is out the window.
Illegal immigrants are by definition harmful, so again "live and let live" is out the window. Our economics are geared towards our known numbers. We can adjust up or down as necessary to accommodate legal immigration and give ourselves a margin of error, but if someone comes over and works on the down-low for cheap then they drive down wages and increase strain on social systems, which are acts of harm against the freedom of workers and the systems we've built for ourselves.
"Better" is subjective, just like morality. I have my own moral code, and so do the people who kill infidels. The fact that they place their morality upon a pedestal of their God makes no difference to me. I reject it all the same.
If you need to externalize your morality and posit it to God, that's fine. That is the exact same justification that is used by radical islamists, but your moral standards are probably more agreeable.
I am comfortable calling my moral principles my own. As with all ethical systems, irreconcilable differences will lead to violence independent of who justifies theirs with a deity.
It must be hard trying to live life without a compass. Yes, you can just 'be a good person', but it seems you hit a limit with that pretty quickly.
The wonderful thing about Christianity is that it forces you to submit to something greater than yourself. With atheism, the self is all there is. I truly believe that something changes in our brains or soul when we give in to ourselves.
It's why liberalism is a mental disorder holds true. In reality it's sin is a soul disorder, and we have many people out there who don't believe in a soul which wears at the moral fabric of a person.
Ego is the poison of the mind. I also think it's why most celebrities are so liberal. When your ego is constantly built up and everyone worships your every action, it changes how you view the world around you. The brain isn't designed to have that much dopamine. It goes for porn and normal guys as well. When we flood our brains with images of women we could never attain in real life, we're tricking our brains. No natural circumstance for most men would allow you to witness a 3-some with three beautiful women.
Religion attempts to put our sinful nature in check. If you don't have that, you're a bystander in the middle of a war you don't even know is happening.
We've never needed Jesus more. This year, our first two children passed (miscarriage). Our heart is shredded into pieces, but I keep going back to Romans 8:18
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
We have a wonderful church family that has seen us through this. I pray every day that God do His will. We are finally allowed to start trying to get pregnant again (doctor's orders). I know He will deliver us through this and bless us with a big, beautiful family!
“You have turned my mourning into dancing for me;
You have untied my sackcloth and encircled me with joy,” Psalm 30:11.
Your faith is inspiring to me. I am so sorry to hear about your losses. I look forward to the day when I see the post that says, “Welcome our new baby pede!”. So glad you have a good church family, too. God bless you and your family.
It is so uplifting to me that a former atheist has had such a deep and unqualified conversion to being a Christ-follower.
And we all have those kind of unwanted thoughts at times, especially when we're suffering. Your transparency in sharing it helps me. I am working on being more transparent.
May our Lord wrap you and your wife in his loving arms and bring comfort and peace to you.
Thank you so much for your prayers. I might write a book one day about my conversion (after I am established permanently in the field -- don't want to ruin my career).
I would say I was mostly agnostic -- I did not know or care that God was there. How could it be that some being created this universe? The more I learned about astrophysics, the more I realized that God existed. It would take much too long to write everything down here. In any case, the day I was baptized was the best day of my life.
That post is for members only. I would suggest that being a member of a group whose goal seems to be to justify their denial of the truth makes you equivalent to . . . a Demonrat.
Sargon recently hit on the point that Aristotelian values permeated Christian thought, and went out with the bathwater when religion was discarded. Hence why woke heroes turn out to be villains when viewed critically, the woke do not recognize or understand the virtues traditional characters embodied.
Ehh, Crusades were pretty good. Also, they did help many Europeans have food to eat and moralized the leaders of the countries, while telling others to respect his fellow man. They were barbaric, but the intentions were good and laid the framework for modern christianity. Don't forget about how they kept writings of medieval life, and helped to educate the population as much as possible.
Agreed on Bergoglio - can't stand the heretic, truth be told.
Then again, I'm blessed with our parish having a based priest (he even holds traditional Tridentine High Mass on occasion - Latin, incense, six candles, the works.)
Before he showed up, I was in the same boat as you - didn't care if I went or not. Now? I make it a point to insure we go.
"even the possibility of their being forces at work beyond what science can explain "
This is what kills me about smooth brain leftists. Everything we have learned about scientific method since we came out of the trees teaches us that there is ALWAYS a possibility, a probability even, of there being forces at work beyond what science can explain.
Not sure if you saw my other comments but I've been an atheist as long as I can remember. I never felt the need to be evangelical about it, nor to denigrate anyone for their faith.
Nothing wrong with that. You can have a personal relationship with God without the church. I left the church back in 2010 and have not stepped foot in one other than for weddings/baptisms. I have a great relationship with God, read scripture, and pray.
Don't step in unless you feel an overwhelming need or could use the fellowship.
I am with u/Guins95 here. I was born Catholic and wandered in and out of practicing going on a half century now. I will not practice while Bergoglio heads the Church, and I likely will never practice again because I believe the Church to be in grave error in its teachings.
My specific beef with the Church's teachings is their obfuscation of the idea of the Holy Spirit. I always saw their inchoate representation of the Holy Spirit as mumbo-jumbo hand-waving about completely subjective emotions and abstract concepts like love, charity, peace, hope and tranquility. I can see the value of these things, but I could never buy into the idea that the message could not be further refined nor better explained.
I have concluded that the Holy Spirit is the Scientific Method, backed with logic, that finally elevated our minds beyond our frankly horrific natural, animal nature. That was God's gift to us to help guide us in exploring the intricate beauty of His Creation.
Read this: John 14 from after the Last Supper on the night before our Lord's crucifixion. It's short and shouldn't take more than three minutes to read. Imagine yourself in Jesus' place, trying to explain the Enlightenment that would be coming fifteen-hundred years in the future to your pre-Enlightenment followers.
I also strongly believe this is why the constitution says "God-given rights"" because it if it just comes from a person or government then it can easily be taken away by a person/government and so everything becomes a power struggle.
I can see why. Wherever I say so, somebody else might say otherwise. We have a right to speak. It's a God-given right insofar as vocal chords, the cortex thing, and our general faculty of language hasn't been given to us by any govment or paper or naught else. So, where did that came from? At the end of the line, it's all God or we're bust.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Life?. Of course. 'cause dead folks don't do much but stink up the room. eh.
Liberty. Of course. 'cause we all have shits to get done. In order to get it done, we must be free to act.
Pursuit of happiness? Of course. 'cause why else would we stand up and walk day after day?
I mean, it's nothing new. I'm befuddled that I still believe it need to said. Again.
he got convinced that a person can be a non-believer and that is fine but when it comes to society as a whole then it will just crumble.. he said something like ""what are you going to do? ask the society to meditate together?""
A society can be based on many different values. For instance, blood and soil.
There's many things a society can be based on. Not just a cucked religion that tells you to turn the other cheek.
And face it, there's absolutely no Christian justification for Trump's Wall. The nationalism and patriotism that we all feel (and I'm referring to the MAGA one) has nothing to do with Christianity.
there's absolutely no Christian justification for Trump's Wall.
God turns people away from heaven for being ungodly and bad people. Why can't we turn away rapists and murderers from our border? Christianity is highly related to the MAGA movement. While we may believe in Capitalism and "every man for himself" to a certain extent, we all look out for our fellow man and what is best for society and our loved ones and decide that is the best system. Having a strong border, capitalism, low taxes, life at conception are all heavily tied to Christianity and Theology in general.
a cucked religion that tells you to turn the other cheek.
The verse referred to is teaching not to be quick to anger and to not act purely on emotion, a decidedly liberal trait if I may add. Do not forget that king David a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22) killed tens of thousands of people (1 Samuel 29:5) in defense of his loved ones and his country. Not to mention the entire Zionist movement throughout the Bible.
God turns people away from heaven for being ungodly and bad people. Why can't we turn away rapists and murderers from our border?
Because that would be... Emulating God?
The Bible explicitly says that God has to choose who is virtuous and who isn't. Besides, the majority of people jumping the border aren't criminals.
Having a strong border [...] are all heavily tied to Christianity and Theology in general.
Christianity is a universal religion. It means that every human on the planet can and should become Christian. Jesus doesn't do any distinction by nationality. Nations don't even exist for Christianity.
The verse referred to is teaching not to be quick to anger and to not act purely on emotion, a decidedly liberal trait if I may add.
But where else does Jesus tell you that you're allowed self defense?
If the command is "not kill" then if a thug enters my house and starts beating up my family I have absolutely no religious justification for shooting him.
king David a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22) killed tens of thousands of people (1 Samuel 29:5) in defense of his loved ones and his country. Not to mention the entire Zionist movement throughout the Bible.
Yes, but I'm not a Jew. I'm not the chosen people. That passage shows that Jews have the right to kill everyone else. It doesn't tell me anything about how me, non-Jew, have a right to defend myself (individually or collectively).
I find it absolutely ridiculous that non-Jews believe in a religion that starts with Jews being the chosen people.
If this is not cuckoldry, I don't know what is.
I'm in the same boat. What happened for two generations now is a complete and total lack of meaning and purpose in their lives. The Woke political religion filled massive vacuum caused by secularism. They turned their politics into religion.
I was raised effectively atheist. But I became agnostic along the way because of my strong interest and research into near death experiences. Now it could be said that I effectively 'have faith' that a soul and afterlife exist... but I believe it to be in a completely non-traditionally religious manner.
I feel a new religion based on enlightenment values/western values could be a good idea for people who aren't interested in traditional religion. But something for community and meaning. Because what a freakshow the Woke garbage turned out to be.
You fell for the classic lie that Christians are anti-science. Almost all of the greatest minds in history were religious. Atheism is just a license for debauchery, as you've since discovered. There are good atheists, but they are good in spite of their atheism, not because of it. And, yes, there are bad religions, too.
I stopped using the "atheist" label when the Atheism+ lot first appeared on the scene. Why should you be defined by things you are not anyway? TRUMP2020
Same. There is a logical argument based on reason and natural rights for a universal secular morality. But I've accepted many people aren't capable of logical thought. And the values of Christianity are pretty much identical to these secular ethics anyway. So I'm a pro-christian atheist. Atheism leads most to moral relatvity. And that is beyond dangerous.
There's agnostic atheists and gnostic atheists. The angry ones that are mad at christians are gnostics. I'm an agnostic atheist. Basically means I don't know if there is a god, but there might be. I just don't have enough evidence to weigh in on it and I don't let other people's religion bring me down. Except for islam which lets be honest, is not a religion. It's a goat fucking pedo death cult.
Is it any wonder all these "atheists" and "party of science" liberals don't see the value of putting a man on mars or having a presence in space travel? They're more concerned with redefining biology than actual scientific advancement.
Believer Pede here. OP, whatever your beliefs are, I accept you and will do my best to love you. Christians have two mandates directly from Jesus: Love God, Love Others. Everything else hangs on those two.
Aye brother I would encourage you to learn about Jesus. I used to be super hardcore athiest. I didn't even think it was possible for me to actually believe in God existing without lying to myself but against all odds that's what ended up happening.
The bible says those who believe and accept God's son Jesus as their personal lord and savior "Abideth in the light" and let me tell you, after experiencing what abiding in the light is like, their is no going back. The bible also says people who aren't in the light, are in darkness and blind. They can't see. They dont even know what direction they are headed. Clearly your post points this out perfectly. Everyone without God eventually turns into a blind fool. You midaswell start walking down the street with a blind person stick. Wacking it against things to try to figure out where you are.
Blind people are easily taken advantage of by evil people. Jesus said to guide the blind.
I understand if youre athiest that it is really difficult to really understand even the idea of God without feeling cringy or unnatural to yourself but thats a good thing when you look back. Those are the demons in you, trying to pull you back into the darkness just like the Chelsea handler pulls 25 cent back onto the demcorat plantation. What I can tell you is that the real God won't force you into anything you dont want to do. So if you want to see what the real God is like you have to personally ask him yourself. He is everywhere all the time and has all the time in the world for you to get to know him on a personal level. He already knows you, he won't come to get to know you, he's waiting on you to already accept him and if you do he will come into your life and change it for the better. Better than ever before.
The hardest part for me and what I think is hardest for almost all athiests is the whole "well if you could show me proof he exists I would believe easily that God exists" but once you get that part figured out, and you understand that a God actually does exist, you are then able to understand that you dont actually have any control at all. You then give all the control and glory to God, the almighty. The bible says to caste all yorlur cares onto him, for he careth for you. There isn't a problem he can't solve. Thats when the party really gets started because after that. You don't have to question anything. You don't have to fear anymore except fearing the lord 🙏. Life gets exponentially easier mentally speaking. You'll be filled with the holy spirit, no joke. I thought the holy spirit was a joke 2 years ago. Its not a joke. Its a real gift from the creator himself. Its like another super power ontop of how you felt like you could read peoples minds when you got redpilled. You will be able to let go of things, you will feel disgusted when you sin and things you didn't think you could stop doing, or things that burdened your mind will suddenly be lifted away. God is great. The real God Is way better than other the other fake gods that worldly peoples invented or made up on a whim.
These days, I dont even question it. I put the almighty in control and its had to be the best thing I've ever done. Everything lines up in the world now, Just for me. The bible says people who accept Jesus and follow all his commandments are the children of the light, and the children of the day. It also says the meek shall inherit the Earth. It also says those who invest in God, God will invest in them. It also says those who fast in secret will be rewarded openly. These holy nuggets of information are priceless.
The bible has never been wrong. Even once. There isn't a single piece of contradictory information within the bible unlike the unholy, satanic quaran.
So I say unto you pede, you do not have to leave your atheism, but know thay jesus loves you and he will always accept you back and encourage you to turn from your whicked ways. If you spend time reading your bible and watching videos and educating yourself about the word of our lord and savior, you wont regret it.
Oh that and I can't forget to tell you that God's gifts are great. Not only do you get filled with the holy spirit but if you accept Jesus as your lord and savior, repent of your sins and follow his commandments, you'll be granted eternal life. Jesus said in his fathers house are many mansions. And that yours will be prepared for you just in time for when you show up. But if you continue to sin and die in your whicked ways, you'll die on this earth and you'll wake up front of the lord and he will send you off to hell where you decided you wanted to go on your own free will. You will show up to hell and you'll be cast into the lake of fire where your soul will be destroyed for eternity, never yo come back. You'll deserve it. Satan worshippers get what they deserve.
Jesus is the only way. Jesus said this himself. Catholics are burning in hell according to Jesus who is God in the flesh of a man. Catholics, most of the christains. Athiests, agnostics, Hindus. Theyre all burning in hell. Jesus said he is the only way. No one sees the father except through him. Youre good deeds vs your bad deeds isn't going to convince the alpha and the omega, Jesus Christ to let you into the fathers house. Only accepting jesus gets you in. You could have donated more money to charity than anyone else on earth and youre still going to hell unless you accept jesus. All you have to do is accept jesus and stop worshipping satan and all these beautiful things will be gifted to you free of charge. You dont even need a social security number or nothing.
Agnostic might be a better fit for you. With all the unknowable that exists in the universe, it's seems like it should be the default state of Man. I've been raised in a faith that has held to be true in my life, but I do not it expect it to be the universal experience. If the fruits of atheism seem to be falling short maybe it's time to #Walkaway.
Yeah, I have a love hate relationship with iq. There is a sweet spot. I score 160. Hasn't helped me out at all. Made my life very hard and shitty to be honest. So many complex things are obvious to me that it's hard to talk to most people. I've had to learn to filter without being condescending.
It's a balancing act. No doubt, following the wisdom of the best crowd and just vibing has improved my life infinitely. It's kinda like dancing. Doesn't matter how smart you are if you don't have large amounts of money, you have to get other people to follow along and invest. I think that is where GEOTUS shines. Super genius that has put on a 4 year master class in communications, negotiations and winning.
I think character, ethics, and values are like algorithms. You don't have to be smart to have a good life, be happy and successful. Just use things that work.Developing those things have made me far more successful than being smart or faster to understand than anyone else in the room. Work hard and show up. This ends my couple beers in rant.
Atheism is awful. Agnosticism is perfectly acceptable.
The "high iq" atheists who refuse to differentiate are part of the problem, because there are lots of agnostics who call themselves atheists due to not knowing better.
It's interesting that many of the great structures of old, pyramids (egyptian, aztec, Incan, mayan), temples, churches, mosques, etc were built to practice faith. Think of all the great artwork and music inspired by God. For such a backward thinking it sure results in leaps and bounds in arts, science, and engineering.
Amen. Creature can't escape the rules of the Creator.
Amen!
No its just Christian. Nothing Judeo about it
Christianity is Judeo. Read the book again.
America wasnt founded for jews. It was founded for Christians
It was founded for all who will MAGA.
Majored in it dipshit. Oh, and I'm not Hispanic either but keep talking out of your angry ass. Remind me the part of the constitution where it says you must be Christian to live here. Also, I am Christian but many people who MAGA with us are not.
Nonsense.
Sounds like you need a history lesson low iq wizard

Child, please. The adults are talking.
Well if you want to get technical, it was founded by Christians who were persecuted by other Christians and recognized the importance of religious freedom
Nope wrong
I do remember something about the synagogue of Satan
Yes! There are no more Jews- only the synagogue of Satan.
Matthew 5:17 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”
Not at all!
In other words, it's not so much that kosher was and stoning was abolished, just that we don't have to do that anymore because we have a perfect sacrifice.
ever heard of the 10 commandments?
The moral law is forever.
https://www.newadvent.org/summa/2100.htm
Which the Jews still live in unto this day.
I do remember something about the synagogue of Satan
Actually it is just Christian.
What makes your code better than theirs?
Being aligned with reality and being able to produce as well as anticipate desired outcomes.
If you like fucking goats and iq crippling levels of inbreeding. Then embrace Muhammed.
If you like space force, food, sky scrapers, the internet, retarded levels of peace, prosperity and security the Western world clearly wins.
Well, it's hard to judge your position since you jumped in late, but . . . probably the people who produced the lower set of pictures would argue they are doing that too, right?
My code doesn't infringe on the freedom of others to live their lives so long as they don't infringe on my freedom to live mine.
Have you thought about why? Where does that come from? Is it logical? Or is it a conscience? A conscience give to you by . . . God?
Or at the very least: the laws of nature and nature's God?
Yes
It could be a self preservation mechanism, either logical or "instinctual". The creation of unnecessary enemies is not a desirable outcome
I'm with you that far. But, if you're sure you can get away with it and you're stronger than they, you'll kill anyone and take their stuff, right?
Then why the fuck are you voting republican? That's some libertarian shit if I ever heard it.
I don't follow that at all, sorry.
Nobody cares what you reject.
If you're fine with Muslims beheading people over cartoons of Muhammad, then you're my enemy.
You're more fine with it than I am, since you have no morals standard outside your tiny brain.
There is no practical difference.
Christianity is BS. Moses and Jesus are mythical. You speak of ego. Jesus is a projection of an ideal self. Show me proof Jesus ever existed.
Maybe!!

RIP Acharya!
All of the scientists of the earlier ages were God fearing men
Philosophy was born out of religion.
When you abandon your roots you best take care of what you replace them with.
Can confirm.
I was agnostic/atheist my whole life until I was baptized this January at 33 years old.
I am an astrophysicist and I love the LORD my God. Jesus, come back soon and deliver us from this broken world!
Welcome to the family! Thrilled to hear this!
Thank you! God is even more thrilled :)
Stay strong friend. Trust in Jesus. I
Thank you. Amen!
When Jesus in the Book of life wrote of our babies birth, He gently turned the page and said, "Too beautiful for earth."
We will hold them one day. It's just not as soon as we would like.
Prayers friend. God also knows what it's like to lose a child.
Thank you so very much. This was a wonderful comment for my morning. It's been a long time since I've felt normal. God brings the only comfort.
God bless you.
“You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have untied my sackcloth and encircled me with joy,” Psalm 30:11.
Your faith is inspiring to me. I am so sorry to hear about your losses. I look forward to the day when I see the post that says, “Welcome our new baby pede!”. So glad you have a good church family, too. God bless you and your family.
It will be a glorious day! I am much looking forward to that. This year has been brutal. I had the most depressing thought of my life this summer:
"At least our babies died so that I didn't have to watch their births on Zoom."
I am slowly recovering, and my wife even slower. But we place our suffering with God and know that He will bring us comfort.
Welcome, brother/sister. I was just about to say this- real scientists are often Christian, because that's the only thing that makes any sense.
Agreed. I know four other Christian astrophysicists. We aren't the majority, but we exist.
I don't know much about astrophysics, but I know the beautiful complexity speaks of God's power. It must be an amazing insight.
And the universe is much much more complex than you or I perceive! It's all a great mystery given to us by God.
Hey, everybody! I found the "real scientists"! Get a load of them, guys. Right here!
No it doesn't. This whole statement is riddled with fallacies. Deism makes sense. Christianity doesn't at all.
Why look at only some of the evidence? The universe says there is a God. The prophecies and witnesses say He came to us.
https://ehrmanblog.org/the-first-apocalypse-the-book-of-daniel/ those are fake too.
That post is for members only. I would suggest that being a member of a group whose goal seems to be to justify their denial of the truth makes you equivalent to . . . a Demonrat.

All things point towards the evidence of an intelligent creator.
Agreed!
Sargon recently hit on the point that Aristotelian values permeated Christian thought, and went out with the bathwater when religion was discarded. Hence why woke heroes turn out to be villains when viewed critically, the woke do not recognize or understand the virtues traditional characters embodied.
The Fourth Age is an under-viewed channel that takes deep dive into this sort of thing.
Ah Sargon. Fount of ancient wisdom applicable in modern times.
I have my own views on the old Catholic Church. None of them good.
I'm stepping back up to the church. I'm not ready to step in yet
TLM is worth investigating. I'd be happy if that were the norm again.
I read Work of Human Hands by Fr. Cedaka and it blew the doors off any notion that the Novus Ordo was an improvement. It has got to go.
http://www.newliturgicalmovement.org/2011/07/book-review-work-of-human-hands.html
Fuck those preachers most of them don't believe and are telling the devils message
Read the bible yourself or with trustd partner / friends. You don't need someone else to decode the message for you. You know whats true
This. Me too exactly.
Maybe ditch the Catholic Church all together? I’m a Presbyterian goer now, and I greatly prefer it! No fancy formalities, just teaching the Bible.
I’m a fellow atheist as well. Cant believe in the churches teachings myself, but I can respect them.
Yep.
concur (see my comment)
"When people stop believing in God, it's not that they'll believe in nothing, it's that they'll believe in anything." - paraphrasing G.K. Chesterton
I actually just started reading his defense of sanity book
He tended to be ... verbose, shall we say?
He wrote like he was being paid by the letter. But he's got some good stuff anyway
Come to the light side.
We have forgiveness.
Again.
Because that would be... Emulating God? The Bible explicitly says that God has to choose who is virtuous and who isn't. Besides, the majority of people jumping the border aren't criminals.
Christianity is a universal religion. It means that every human on the planet can and should become Christian. Jesus doesn't do any distinction by nationality. Nations don't even exist for Christianity.
But where else does Jesus tell you that you're allowed self defense? If the command is "not kill" then if a thug enters my house and starts beating up my family I have absolutely no religious justification for shooting him.
Yep. I have atheist buyer's remorse. Bring back the Christian majority, please.
Turn to God and His Son. You will not regret it.
The elitists are occultists fyi. They're actually very religious, they just happen to worship Satan (for real).
Ya know 4 years ago I'd have thought you were crazy saying that.
I give it 50/50 odds you are one hundred percent correct
50% of the time, he's 100% correct.
The depravity of man is real...read I don't have enough faith to be an Atheist by Frank Turek.
Atheism was created by Bolsheviks and Zionists.
I stopped using the "atheist" label when the Atheism+ lot first appeared on the scene. Why should you be defined by things you are not anyway? TRUMP2020
Just goes to show you how useless the state really is.
I'm AI too.
We athiests need another Christopher Hitchens.
More atheists are made by ill equipped religious leaders and pastors than anyone else, sadly.
God isn't mad. He's fuming.
I was an atheist 8 years ago, now I literally pray for our president's protection nightly
If they start hard pushing trans politics in schools. I'll declare myself a Muslim so my kids will be protected from their indoctrination.
They WILL push this stuff in elementary schools.
Also all of your kids tv shows in the future will feature Gay parents. Transgenders, cross dressers, and a boy undergoing a sex change.
PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN!!!!
This "ad" is just the beginning.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l_8yeYVlBo
This will BE EVERYWHERE!
OP, read Tom Holland's Dominion.
The world as you know it would not exist without Christianity. This is not an opinion, but historical fact.
https://www.tom-holland.org/titles/tom-holland/dominion/9781408706978/
There's two types of atheists. Those who don't worship and those who find something besides God to worship. This picture depicts the latter.
So have some conversations with God. Stop denying the truth of what is going on that is being shoved in your face.
Believer Pede here. OP, whatever your beliefs are, I accept you and will do my best to love you. Christians have two mandates directly from Jesus: Love God, Love Others. Everything else hangs on those two.
The banana art one was funny
I hope you two really hit things off too!
Good luck on your journey friend
I feel the same way. The religious people can be a little too zealot for me though.
I mean deism is also pretty default. Ask children.
"Where religion is absent, ideology takes hold"
This is why Leftism is a cult
I'm a a deist. Reluctant participant in Christianity. Happiest, healthiest, smartest people I know though. It's not even close. Go to church faggits.
Smart people are always at the bottom of the comment sections here. Love you, pede!
Love you too, pede.
Don't let man-made religions keep you from God. Look into your heart and find your own way as a free person.
More like the upper righthand image is what our world would be like if everyone was christian and lived by moral principles
Atheism is awful. Agnosticism is perfectly acceptable.
The "high iq" atheists who refuse to differentiate are part of the problem, because there are lots of agnostics who call themselves atheists due to not knowing better.
Those without God tend to be miserable degenerates! I know because I used to be 1! God Bless!
I was a Episcopalian growing up, then when I went to college, I got brainwashed and became atheist.
Today, I consider myself an agnostic who is starting to re-read the Bible
Why?
Because I learned the only thing that's more insufferable than an overly devout religious person is an atheist.
The bible says "the fool has said in his heart that there is no God."
To be fair I don’t think this is just a religion thing.
If anything these people just seem to have replaced one religion for another. And have become the dogmatic types.
They drank the koolaid that’s the problem. Not necessarily religion or the lack there of.
sooooooooo true!!
