In light of recent events, governments the world over have spent a lot of money, and rightfully so. But the US seems to be leading the pack (1.5T on COVID-19 alone to date). Is this an issue that needs to be addressed? If so, how is the Trump administration preparing to potentially curb government spending over a second term?

I fully expect this aspect to continue throughout his next term unfortunately. I can only hope he continues policies that curb entitlements and fights the recent striking down of his SNAP reform. Maybe some education reform given all the lazy teachers refusing to do their jobs when they still get funding. Reduce military presence abroad. That should be a good start.

Government spending will never go down, so we might as well just try to make sure it's spent on the things we want. Sucks, but it's true.

Unfortunately there is only so much he CAN do. Congress holds the power of the purse, and Democrats control congress atm. Republicans in the last year or so seem to have pulled their heads out of their asses, so we can only hope if we take the house and keep the senate that we will see some good changes.

Couple that with the fact that his policies are bringing back higher paying manufacturing jobs. This means he can cut taxes and the government will still be bringing in more money while we make more money.

When he started firing people in his first term, the Democrats went INSANE. With a Republican controlled house and Senate, they are more likely to get behind him while he is doing it. If we take all 3 branches, we can remove the useless RINO's in 2022.

Yes, it’s one of the few criticisms I have of Trump. Hopefully in his second term he’ll go scorched earth and slash government spending.
