How many businesses can't afford to pay someone for months and months, while paying someone else to do the same job? Not that many. If an employee and employer can work out something, great, but forcing employers to do this is wrong, and will actually make women of birthing age less likely to be employed, because what business wants to take a chance on that unexpected cost being thrust upon them?
