OK, looking at the numbers coming in, I'm beginning to think we are in danger of having a voter turnout of over 100%

ie, there are 152,666,000 registered voters in the US (according to here: https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/number-of-registered-voters-by-state)

at current rate, there will be more votes cast than this... how does that work?

if you do the math, that site implies that there are only 249,159,403 people in the US, or are they referring to people over 18?

I get what you are getting at now if you got your 249mil figure from adding up the Number of Registered Voters. Then yes they are referring to people over 18. Because to be a registers voter you have to be 18 or over. but to compound that 814,000 celebrate brithdays every day in the US. some portion of that celebrate there 18th bitrthday evey day . i found this---- There were 4,021,726 live births in 2002 so roughly 4 million more people are eligible to vote this year over last year minuses of cores what ever amount of those 4 million died before they turned 18.
