FIREARM QUESTION: Is it easy to change an upper on my AR-15?             MAGA

I'm looking to buy a complete upper and swap it out. I have a Colt AR-15 that has the carry handle, so I want to be able to mount an optic on top and with the carry handle, it's a problem due to the ridiculous height, even if I put a picatinny rail on top of it.

  1. If I buy a complete upper, does it have everything I need installed on it out of the box, or do I need to install the bolt carrier, the charging handle etc? I have no idea how to do that.

  2. Is it simple enough that I can take it down and swap the upper by myself or do I need to take it to a gunsmith?

Yes. Watch any video on how to clean an AR 15 and youll learn how to change the upper.

My post was in relation to yes its that easy.

For your first question, you would have to see if the new upper comes with a bolt carrier or not and such.
