FYI for people wondering mailchimp isn't an email service like gmail -- it's for sending newsletters, automated marketing emails, etc. and is yuge

Competition is super prevalent and it's nowhere near a worry compared to social networks and others. You can export your mail lists and move to Sendgrid or others.
