Also, it doesn't mean complete starvation. Depending on you level of fasting, meals are allowed. For example, Ash Wednesday fast means only one full meal per day, a typical Friday fast is no meat. People with health conditions are not bound to it either. If you start experiencing things like blurred vision or feeling faint, then stop.
I in a group that has been praying and fasting for 40 days up to the election. We meet 3 times a day for prayer over zoom. There are people all over the world praying and fasting. We need to fight the good fight of faith.
Edit: I just read the article and noticed my copy of the Bible did indeed remove two verses about fasting. The conspiracies keep getting deeper and deeper.
You can always fast from just one thing too, it does not have to be from all food. It could be coffee, soda, sweets, chips, whatever you feel would make you stronger. Our church does it sometimes when we are facing a big decision. We do 40 days, so most people fast from one or two things. I fasted from my diet soda once. Was not easy, and you can go through withdrawals. Could even fast from TV or internet. Just focus on prayer during that time, bringing up the events of the election and for the healing of our land. Good luck to all who choose to fast!
