So I get it, most states hate Californians, but I'm a conservative Trump supporter that votes no on every tax increase proposal and I'm an introvert that doesn't like talking to people. The only remotely Californian thing I do is say Hella and like and go 20 mph past the speed limit on the highway, and I come from a wealthy family so I might gentrify the place.

Anyways, do people actually hate me for being a "Californian" if I agree with their politics? I was in Montana and some uber driver got pissed off and was like "fuck you dude, your from California" and I'm like "I'm a republican thats why i'm thinking of moving here".

Input?

Texan here. You'll get that "not another Californian!" response here at first too. However, after you express that you won't California our Texas with lefty voting, you'll be generally accepted. We'll still complain about your shit driving though.

Another Texan here. Never forget, Texans are Texans first. To be accepted as a Californian in Texas you pretty much need to forego all things Californian and accept-- no, adopt-- Texan culture. Then say you love Texas and Texans. Be an immigrant who loves your chosen country more than the natives.
