We, the American people, need to revisit how DC is managed. DC should NEVER be a private club for leftist assholes to rule over without heavy US citizen oversight.
The reason Congress created a federal district for the capital is so that they could control law enforcement in the city where they met. Congress met in Philadelphia at the time, and got surrounded by an angry mob. Local law enforcement refused to disperse the crowd.
Yesssss. I got asked by a republican door to door canvasser (fuck it if it's not a word...) after I explained that me, my wife, and oldest daughter were all voting straight republican:
"I mean, can you believe the left wants to defend the police?"
I said "well... technically, I want to defund the police. Just not law enforcement. The police are hired mercenaries for the city and the mayor. I want them all to be deputy sheriffs. I want them to report up through an elected position that works for the people. They should not be security guards for the mayor and city council"
The Federal reserve has armed police. Not security. Police. Fuuuuck the federal reserve. (Other reasons, too)
The usps has armed police. Wtf. Why?
The irs has armed police. Fucking seriously?
Are we seeing the difference? Police are hired guns to enforce compliance with a monopoly on the right to distribute the death penalty without due process.
I had to have law enforcement respond to an incident at my house. The response was the sheriff and half a dozen deputies. They were the most amazing people on this earth. I am thankful to God that where we lived was not reliant on the police.
Heh. I love the couple down votes that are likely a mix of "I'm police. How dare you say I'm a hired gun for the mayor" or "this can't be true but I'm not looking it up"
For the police - not sheriffs or deputies or even state police that report to the governor (still a problem for me, but less so since the national guard does too...):
Tell me - which is the thing you support? Constitution? US constitution or state? Or, pension? Pick one. Fucking one. Choose wisely.
Remember - "seat belt laws are common sense. They are 'add on' we will never use it as a primary infraction. It is not a valid reason to be stopped" - now, tell me - how many of you "keepers of the peace" followed (pension) orders and violated due process to do it?
If you, the other downvote camp option, think I'm wrong... police - one thing. Constable - another role (domestic disturbance, protection for "need to get my stuff but my boyfriend will beat me"), sheriff and deputies (elected and hired), state police (governor's enforcement and awful job of highway fatalities. Also assholes that give tickets. Also, gentlemen who help change tires and help stranded motorists)
There are a few others, but this should help. I dont begrudge anyone's choice. All of these are hard fucking jobs. However, there are two groups that stand alone.
sheriff. Elected. Serves the people. Not the city.
firemen. The actual fucking heros that get no authority. No gun. No power. Only have to be fit, dedicated, and willing to die to save every last person in this country.
Third group that is kinda mentioned. Volunteer firemen. Omgwtf is wrong with you crew? Firemen that do it as a hobby? Love you all and you are the open boots I will always put cash in. Every time.
(I am not a fireman, nor related or really know any. I just understand the sacrifice they are willing to make!)
Lastly, military - I appreciate their service. I also feel the notion of service has been very tainted by "trade gunfire for college"
I understand there is a great degree of patriots not swayed or driven by this. I also understand there is a "do it for the vine" mentality that also tarnishes our military.
Except you, coast guard. Not sure if y"all use "I'm ex-coast guard" to your advantage?
I’ll bet you think they don’t understand when they’re enforcing red flag laws, or searching Jews homes in NY because of unconstitutional Covid mandates. Clown.
The DC police have an atrocious reputation, and they've had it for a long time. They're the closest thing to the Praetorian Guard the US has: remember Noodles and her brow-beating the DC police over evidence a few years back? DC Police brass are all plugged into the establishment leadership, and it's not to ensure optimally-smooth policing in the DC area.
THIS is why we need to break down and reorganize the police! If there's a SINGLE police officer who'd follow this order, which breaks their oath they take to put on that uniform, then they're just as liable as the mayor is. They SHOULD be arresting the mayor because "just following orders" isn't acceptable in the USA
This is the stupid power tripping tin pot dictator bitch talking about removing the Jefferson memorial etc and renaming the city to (Frederick) "Douglass Commonwealth" instead of District of Columbia. Please bitch, you have no power over our capital.
As a high ranking member of Congress, he does have a protective detail. Speaker, senate majority leader, and I believe the Whips get protection. It’s very small, though.
Who is going to prosecute? Debbie Wasserman Schultz's brother is Assistant US Attorney in DC. He was instrumental in covering up the Seth Rich murder.
Think Barr is going to do anything? FBI? No one is going to charge the Mayor of DC with anything. We haven't had a functional Judicial System in decades.
Prior to municipal fire departments this is how fire brigades used to work. They were privately run and they'd pick & choose who's home to rescue, extort payments on site, be slow about it, real union-thuggery type stuff.
Is McConnell known for publicity stunts? If he calls the police, it is likely because there is a threat. Not because he wants to say look how unhinged Democrats are, even the police had to show up. First, the anarchists are not Democrats. Second, we can look at the video and see how violent the anarchists are. I don't think the mayor wants the mob to kill him obviously, but I think she wants to downplay the violence of the mob, and so she might caution police NOT to "get involved' in political matters.
This is why the police should be independently responsible for enforcing the law, and not have to answer to the fucking commie government. Just like the Sherriff. Elected by the people to protect the people. Not appointed by gov't to protect certain gov't.
Can we, like, show up with clown horns and firecrackers and hold a MAGA rally there?
Then, like, if someone starts getting crazy challenge them to a dance off and have coordinated dancers bust out moves and challenge the other side and then post the results?
And also make sure to have peanut and corn vendors walking around selling delicious snacks at affordable prices for the passerby.
Plus a couple marching bands celebrating the night.
I mean, it is gonna be lawless anarchy right? Not a bad thing if you think about it.
I see the big problem here as being an elected official not worthy of the position she holds.
Fighting with the police is not going to be a winning strategy, there needs to be a accountability at the top. The vast majority of police are plain old Americans doing a job.. and at the whim of the power structure they report to. That is where this crazy anti American shit stems from. Make the leader accountable.
We, the American people, need to revisit how DC is managed. DC should NEVER be a private club for leftist assholes to rule over without heavy US citizen oversight.
AMEN!!!
I second this guys amen
I trunalimunumaprzure this guys seconded amen.

Bowser’s orders don’t hold up without people willing to obey them. Back the blue though, right?
mayors should never control the police.

Thanks for this perspective, it's a new one for me. I never considered that police chiefs aren't elected like sheriffs are.
I would 100% support a position like this. People forget that a lot of non-urban areas in the US only have a Sheriff's Office, not a Police force.

(Volunteer fire fighter here )
This is one of the best posts I have read on here.
Awesome point.
Agreed, but the police shouldn’t acquiesce to obvious political motivations, nor to unconstitutional mandates.
It would if we had a justice system that was fair.
Yup. The consitution should he their boss before anything else is
I dont think they (the mayor) do control the US Capital police... if they protect congress.
Even more disturbing...
They are the commissioners and mayors henchmen. Sheriffs are voted in and have had a long standing of being for the people.
Make it illegal for them to participate in social/political activism of any kind.
They’re a cancer.
Oddly enough, something all sides of the country seem to agree on.

If true, that is literally treason.
To the gallows!!!!
Reading comprehension not your strong suit?
IF TRUE,
First two words of my comment.
Time to perp walk these scumbags.
Yup. Its clear cut
how is this not the most illegal shit ever?
Its it is the illegalist shit ever unless a dem in in control lol

That's a very well articulated position
Go for it, MD. You take it.
We don't want them, either!
Your states already hard blue, what’s a few more blue counties gonna do.
Hey @jack.... this might be one of those thingys that breaks your TOS thingy.... Just sayin.
Fuck that bitch, send her to prison.
This is the stupid power tripping tin pot dictator bitch talking about removing the Jefferson memorial etc and renaming the city to (Frederick) "Douglass Commonwealth" instead of District of Columbia. Please bitch, you have no power over our capital.
Imagine being named Bowser
can he request secret service protection?
As a high ranking member of Congress, he does have a protective detail. Speaker, senate majority leader, and I believe the Whips get protection. It’s very small, though.
Probably not true.
If it were, one whistleblower could get her thrown in prison for treason.

It's just natural for democrats.

That's where you're wrong, kiddo
Well, hopefully the police are going to smile and nod and just not follow that order. What an asshat.
Didn't he show up in public this week looking like he'd been roughed up? Bruised face and hands. The cabal is going down thrashing.
Cocaine Mitch needs to come up guns a blazing!!!! They need to watch out for the Ninja Turtle.
Why are we taking the word of a Twitter rando?
No saying we should, but this isn't exactly shocking. Certainly plausible.
Evil fuckers.
Sounds criminal to me. Any lawyer pedes around? Could this constitute an obstruction charge?
This is why the police should be independently responsible for enforcing the law, and not have to answer to the fucking commie government. Just like the Sherriff. Elected by the people to protect the people. Not appointed by gov't to protect certain gov't.
Do they not realize if shit pops off they are the new playing cards...after msm...is what I heard...
Sounds like Mitch or his security team just got a little more leeway when using force to protect themselves...
I’d take this as a death threat if I were in his shoes.
Can we, like, show up with clown horns and firecrackers and hold a MAGA rally there?
Then, like, if someone starts getting crazy challenge them to a dance off and have coordinated dancers bust out moves and challenge the other side and then post the results?

So, is the FBI going to do anything about this corruption or just continue to cover up for Biden?
GEOTUS should move the capital to Kansas. after reelection
Treason
take away homerule
So no protection for Bowser’s house at ALL as a compromise??? How the fuck is this shit, this order by her legal????
Fast walk traitors to the gallows
Aren’t the Capital Police (along with the Federal Park Police) Federal Officers and therefor not under the control of the mayor?
Maybe the Metro Police...who by all accounts are useless anyway so no big loss
Is there any legitimate reason for this? Does he already have additional protection in place or something? Wtf?
Needs to be a rally at Mayor Bowser's house.
I see the big problem here as being an elected official not worthy of the position she holds.

Da fuq?
Sounds illegal as fuck. Sounds like they should slow walk her to a squad car.
