Nah, the angle is such that the 1/16” you are seeing isn’t properly measurable. If the camera angle was directly over the 2” line you’d see it was the same. The top tape is just missing a bit. That’s all.

Everyone knows if you’re measuring accurately you start at 5 or 10 as there’s usually movement in the lip of a tape measure over time anyway...

The movement in the lip is actually on purpose so you can get an accurate measurements if you are pushing the tip against something (kek) or hooking over the edge.

I hate that lip, they need to redesign it so it can move out of the way and stop sliding around also.

Yes, I always “burn” one inch when it needs to be spot on. It makes the math easier, too.
