To be fair, if you never accrued (and paid) interest you weren't really the kind of customer they really want - you want the kind that ends up racking up enough debt to pay those ridiculous interest rates but not so much that they default and skip town.

Yeah you're wrong. They charge a percentage to the business you purchase from. 3% in some cases. Its why you see places add a surcharge or refuse amex all together.

Ah, didn’t think about that side- was thinking the user side rather than the business side in this case.

They do make money on every transaction from the merchant, so you’re still valuable even if you don’t pay interest.
