Either that or they read the user agreement a decade ago when the fad was just starting, and didn't agree to the terms. So they never signed up in the first place, aren't missing a thing, and are trying really hard not to say "I told you so."

Anyway hopefully lesson learned. Social media is a failed experiment in human psychology, now coopted into Operation Mockingbird as another form of propaganda and mind control.

There is a lot of great stuff on the internet outside of social media, and when it comes to maintaining relationships, nothing beats doing it IRL. Short of that, reach out directly via phone, email or direct messages. Never let the service provider dictate the terms of your social engagements ever again.
