In essence — the extreme left wing bias of the press ultimately harms the Democratic Party more than the GOP because they do a very bad job vetting and weeding out bad Democratic candidates while at the same time subjecting GOP candidates to extreme vetting, so in the general election the GOP candidate is far more battle tested and less likely to be upended by a scandal.
