Polls have a 98% refusal rate. That is 98% of the population that pollsters want to speak with refuse to speak with them. At best. Sometimes the rate is higher. So how do they guess what the coutnry will do based on 2% of the population? The answer is they model. Now some models can actually pretty good. But models have their limits. And I would say when a presidential candidate has more opponents than supporters show up at events, a lot of their assumptions might be a bit obsolete.
