Her long form answer is in the article. Basically she feels that Maine and its citizens are well served by their police etc but that it was clear to her that that's not the case in other parts of the country and for that reason she cosponsored Tim Scott's bill that ended up going nowhere.

There was nothing wrong with her answer but of course some people will take exception.
