This could work because cable network will say they can’t play the word on the air and they will bleep it out. All they need to do is take trump saying the beginning sound N and the ending sound R and they will make it look like he said it, but really he didn’t. If this is their plan there’s no way it can be verified, but hunters laptop on the other hand that’s verified. What will happen is the clip will go viral and reach the simple minded.

We can reduce the impact of this "bombshell" by putting out a bunch of obvious deep fakes of various celebrities on the internet. That way, people will be familiar with deep fakes by the time this one drops, and will help drown it out.
The South Park creators just started a show of deep fakes on YouTube. The show kinda sucks but it is an impressive example of how good deep fake can be and how easily they can be made.

I also think that the Republican Party was the party always for the people and it was never the Democrats. They pretend they are so great because they give free money, but that comes with a price. I’m all for people using these programs when they hit hard times, but it’s never meant to be a career move. It’s easier for people not to work who are on them, because they get the assistance they need. For example, you have to make under 2,000 to get help with food stamps...so a family works a part time job just making over that, but now can’t afford food because with out a food card their spending 30% or so on groceries, they’ll have to work less hours or quit. These programs are designed to keep people poor that’s why they don’t help working families! The dems don’t want poor people out of poverty, considering it’s a guaranteed vote for them. But now people are realizing this is what’s been going on. The system is designed to keep people of low socioeconomic status oppressed. Only way to change it is to change the way they vote. I’m hoping they do it this time. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results...I’ve been saying this forever, but I’m white so my opinion doesn’t count.

People really should learn at least third-grade history. The Dems didn't "enslave[] them after the civil war", they beat the shit out of them, burned their houses down, murdered any who got uppity, prevented them from voting through all sorts of dirty tricks, tried to pretend that they weren't citizens, forced them to use separate facilities, refused to let them work certain jobs, and otherwise tried to grind them into the dust.
It wasn't until the 1960s, after the Republicans had forced through equal rights laws and gotten Supreme Court rulings that "separate but equal" was a sham, that the Dems decided to create welfare programs to simply bribe blacks into voting for the very people who had been Grand Cyclops of the KKK for decades such as Robert Byrd.

Possible, but not plausible. Too many people have already voted, and the most die hard vote on election day. A questionable tape dropped the day before an election will have little impact.

It’s not enough to just have the President on tape, would need to have a 2nd person on that tape and that 2nd person would have to corroborate the story for it to have any credence. Also, a story like this dropped the day before the election will stink of desperation, and will be taken with a grain of salt by everyone with half a brain, and anyone voting Trump has more than half a brain.

There is technology to determine deepfakes. If twitter allowed it and didnt ensure it was nowhere to be found then it would be clear election interference.
