$3/rnd if you can find American Eagle on sale, it’s cheaper if you reload. LOTS of people want to shoot it, but balk once they’re told they get to cover ammo costs. 😂
the barret is indeed powerful, but not great as a sniper rifle. we used the barret to blow up IEDs in shitraq and afghanifuck. no real sniper would ever deploy a barret.
Yeah, if I was getting into long range, I'd sooner opt for a 300 Win Mag. The thousands I'd save could go towards more ammo & reloading supplies and/or better glass.
And I'd end up with a rifle that, while not light, I could still hike into the hills and mountains with to bag an elk.
.300 Win Mag is plenty of muscle without the brandname “luxury tax”. It’s lethal well past 1000 yards which is plenty, and you can have one that’s accurate that far out for less $1000.
I have a cousin with a .338 Lapua who can ring steel at 2300 yards, buuuut he’s $12K into that rifle.
Oh yah, at the range is cool, especially if they have a teen that wants to try. I was talking more about causal acquaintances and coworkers who think they’re going to go through 100 rounds like it’s an AR-15 or something. 😂
I think that's what Matt from Demolition Ranch said he has to pay for the armor-piercing .50 cal rounds. Maybe it's the incendiary. But I pay $0 for .50 cal rounds because I don't have a Barrett or anything else that can shoot .50 cal anything.
Fair enough, I'm sure there are specialty rounds that cost that much. I guess I was just thinking about shooting paper, 2 liter bottles and cinder blocks in the desert, in which case $17/rd ammo is overkill. The last time I shot BMG I think I reimbursed my buddies dad $2/rd for ammo. That was a few years ago, AmmoSeek is showing it at about $3/rd now.
If you get an ATACR. You could easily throw some $590 vortex glass on that and push it to 2,000 yards easily. Did it all the time with a Schmidt and bender 3-12 gen 2
Yes, can covers also keep you from getting burned, but heat mirage can cause issues when you're reaching out and touching something at longer distance.
"When barrels and suppressors heat up, visible heatwaves rise from their surface. When seen through a scope – especially high powered hunting scopes – the mirage effect can obscure the sight picture until your gun cools down. Suppressors are especially prone to creating optical mirages, as they trap and contain hot gas within the suppressor body, which causes it to rapidly heat up."
Bro, how many rounds per minute you think that weapon does? It doesn't even have the ability to go the cycle. You can shoot a whole cart as fast as you can, which you would never do with that weapon in any situation and it wouldn't be that hot.
Just saying you are citing a salesman, an article trying to get you to buy useless cool guy shit that even a cool guy wouldn't necessarily use, and if a cool guy was going to use it , it would be for cameo.
Gotta be able to stop a vehicle by putting a round in the engine block so you can force your adversary to dismount and catch rounds from the smaller calibers of your friends.
If you turn your car into a suppressor it would be an NFA item. If you had a car note would the bank be able to legally repo a registered suppressor from you?
I told my wife I wanted one of those for Christmas. 50 cal for my 50th Christmas. She said I'll get you the gun that shoots table salt at flies. I consider that a win.
My rifles are only 0.192 calibers behind this one, and I built them myself for less than $600 each. All parts sent to my front door. No Dealer, No FFL, State license, permit or Gov. intervention required. Broward County, Florida.
I pray that if I am ever shot to death, it's by one of these, because I won't feel a thing and my family won't even have to pay for a burial or cremation because I will turn into a pink mist.
That rifle is 11k - the can is another 3K plus.
He'll grow into it nicely. :)
And if you actually want to shoot that thing it's another what... $6 per round? Madness, lol.
$3/rnd if you can find American Eagle on sale, it’s cheaper if you reload. LOTS of people want to shoot it, but balk once they’re told they get to cover ammo costs. 😂
That's nothing for the value of a BMG cartridge.
Really reach out and touch someone in a non-Biden way
What's really crazy is people see the Barret .50BMG as a super powerful rifle, and it is.
Many don't know that the M2 machine gun uses the same .50BMG cartridge.
Terrifying. It's easy to see why the M2 has been around almost 100 years.
the barret is indeed powerful, but not great as a sniper rifle. we used the barret to blow up IEDs in shitraq and afghanifuck. no real sniper would ever deploy a barret.
Might be useful in riot & looter control. We should do some tests to be sure.
Yeah, it's anti-materiel
Truth I deployed with a m2010 .
When 50 BMG cartridges weren't doing the job, the USAAF upgraded to 20 mm and 37 mm cannon (fires explosive shells).
One Nazi nightfighter had a half dozen 30 mm cannon (He-219 A7/R6). Wish I had one of those.

i have increased my cache to 200 rounds of 50bmg during the pandemic - availability is spotty but $3 per round has held steady since march
Nice! Yeah, definitely hasn’t been affected by the mass buying like 9mm and .223/5.56 have.
i enjoy making people happy so I don't mind letting strangers get off a shot or two at the range - it's definitely good for making friends.
Oh yah, at the range is cool, especially if they have a teen that wants to try. I was talking more about causal acquaintances and coworkers who think they’re going to go through 100 rounds like it’s an AR-15 or something. 😂
Fuuuuck that noise lol. Now if I had a rich buddy who didn't mind blowing some cash on it, that would be cool!
That's the way. That's how I got to shoot one.
More like $17/round.
You are getting ripped off.
I think that's what Matt from Demolition Ranch said he has to pay for the armor-piercing .50 cal rounds. Maybe it's the incendiary. But I pay $0 for .50 cal rounds because I don't have a Barrett or anything else that can shoot .50 cal anything.

$3 has been a constant price since march (at least as of a September when I got my last order).
Even wilder is that .50 isn't actually all that precise

The gun was so heavy you’ll notice how far to the side he has to lean to balance it. I think at the time of this pic it was 1/3 of his total weight.
An 82A1 with 29" barrel, can and full magazine - close to 45 pounds!
Big Mike goes through life that way.
What’s wrapped around the can? A bag?
It’s a suppressor cover to keep the heat from causing a mirage effect through the scope.
Tx50bmg knows.
I'll be damned.
Do you expect it's chambered in 50 bmg, or what?
Looks like it is
Well there ya go. Never doubt his word, lol
He also calls this a bullpup.
I ‘spect it’s chambered in .220 Swift

It was my job for a few years
Insulation to keep it from burning something or someone. Think of it like a muffler for a car. The muffler gets real hot after it runs a lil bit.
If you're firing that rifle enough to burn the can, you're either a poor shot or in a very target rich environment.
Or things have gone sideways!
nobody is ever firing a barret in cyclic!
Its for show. Only. For reals all these other explanations are hilarious. I completed sniper school in 2013. So not too long ago.
A fireproof wrap. That thing will glow red under use.
sleeping bag...lol
Suppressor condom.
Cheaper than a bachelors degree in diversity & inclusion studies — and more useful.

This guy knows what’s up
Full Mad Max, straight ahead
Yes this👆🏼👆🏼
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Or just walk the rest of the way, which is pretty funny on its own
And we just put one of these in the Supreme Court!
Which Barrett do Democrats hate more?
Armor Piercing Incendiary Justice
I, who a year ago had zero guns, ordered a Barrett AR on the day of her confirmation. When it arrives I shall Christen her Amy.
Wait. Wait. Your gun is no longer simply Barrett, it’s JUSTICE
oooooooooooh nice one
Barretts are very nice 👍🏻
Mine is like my 4th child
Excellent for repelling any sort of commie or pedo affiliated disturbance in your neighborhood for sure
Tactically efficient
There is a disturbance in the force
$11k WITHOUT the 2 mile scope.
I’m just amazed at all the inventory In the cases. Our shops are stripped bare.
This was actually taken last summer before the Wuflu hit. It’s one of my favorite pictures. I keep it in my phone to show people.
Gotcha. Great pic!
Our gun shops here in north FL are pretty well stocked. Ammo purchases are limited to only 2 boxes per day.
I bet a car would make a nice suppressor for it.
Ammo is in short supply. But salt is bound to be abundant after the election.

He has some good trigger discipline!
I just noticed the size of that magazine. Holy shit
50 BMG
.22-250
I asked a guy in a gun store where you could fire one of those things one time. You know what he said? "Outside."
True story.
outside...in Yemen
Where’d that shop get all the guns? Pennsylvania is basically sold out.
Kyle is gonna need bigger arms.
slaps barrel You could end so much communism with this thing
For those times that you need to put a round through an engine block.
Now that's a Big Gun...
You know this is a dated photo cuz they have STOCK!
Good eye. Last summer actually.
I would black out all the gun owners permits on the wall. Don't want this gun shop doxxed.
Pic isn't high res enough to make out any details on the stuff on the wall.
enhances
Those are good boys. You’re a good Dad - and he’s a good gun shop owner. It’s a trifecta!
My local shop has one of these for $8k.
I pray that if I am ever shot to death, it's by one of these, because I won't feel a thing and my family won't even have to pay for a burial or cremation because I will turn into a pink mist.
That gun shop looks oddly similar to one near me.
I love a nice clean organized gun shop like that
Manufactured in AZ.
Beautiful finger placement! <3 MAGA2020
Hey I think I recognize that shop. Is it in CO?
Negative
That’s obviously in Texas
Is that a bazooka?
That Barrett is like a tank that did P90x for six years in a row. Lost so much weight but still strong.
Holy, I swear unless all gun stores look the same, we go to the same shop.
Not sure if many stores look the same or this is somewhere in middle TN
Lol you’re the 3rd person to say that. None of the 3 are in my state.
Great trigger discipline.
In Left 4 Dead, I wait until the zombies are lined up in a row for my scoped rifle.
Lined up. Like freaking balloons.
So mad I didn't pick one up when they were 3 grand...
After holding a barrett for a mere 10 seconds his first child will be a masculine child.
Funny you should say that. After our visits to the range he told me he wanted to work for smith and Wesson when he gets older.
That's a good boy you have there.
Single, manly dad-tear rolls down cheek
That’s dope
That mag is bigger than my laptop
That looks like a nice hunting rifle.
That is a whole load of freedom right there
Lol more like a whole torso.
That can distribute freedom a hecking long way.
the owner knows he'll be back one day to buy one ;)
Lol you’re the 4th person to ask me if it’s their local gun store. I guess they all look the same.
