i wish Trump would of told gun owners he would reform the NFA, i thought that was a low risk way of getting gun owning voters who prolly vote libertarian. Maybe keep the tax stamp but make it so people dont have to wait 1 year for a suppressor or a sbr. dems cant really argue it, waiting a month or 2 is still a long time but its alot better then a year....
Fuck that. The tax stamp is only affordable currently, because there was no provision in the law for it to scale with inflation. $200 in 1934 was a lot of money. It's still a lot of money, particularly on a couple-hundred dollar 22LR suppressor. The paperwork should be a formality, not a requirement.
A suppressor should be encouraged, like hearing protection, and at worst, sold as a serialized item on a 4473.
