For reference, Trump's snake poem is actually Aesop's The Farmer & The Snake fable.

I like the scorpion and the frog variation of this fable, the moral of the story is broadly the same but the scorpion also dies, which serves to highlight the self-destructive element of immoral acts.

Plus it has a frog in it.

Oh snap, yeah that is even more indicative of the truth. Evil acts destroy the evildoer too, not just the victim. Great reference, thanks for sharing!
