I hear you. I've also decided after the past few weeks I am no longer finding sources for anyone too lazy to use a search engine for overwhelmingly easy to find background information on memes and posts. Obscure stuff? No prob, helped a pede find something earlier. "Source?" is going to get a response of "Yes, there's quite a few" or the like.
I think the "Don't get complacent" crowd mean well, but good Lord, they are tone deaf. This place is the last place someone who might skip voting would be. And yet we hear it over and over again like a helicopter mom nagging her kids.
My guess is the newbies are those "shy Trump supporters" we keep hearing about who want to make sure this happens. It's ok that not everyone has had the stomach to actively fight this battle along the way. I thank God for my fellow pedes who have.
