What is supposed to be an environment where you cannot express political activity in EITHER direction, has turned into an environment where you can only express LEFTIST rhetoric. And in fact, if you DON'T express leftist rhetoric (it's not good enough to just be neutral), then you'll get targeted for removal.

Turn the tables on them. Make it socially awkward for them to admit they're leftists. Mock them. Ostracize them. Deny them business if you're an entrepreneur. Deny them accommodation if you're a landlord. Evict them if you house them. Deny them service if you're a worker, as best as you can get away with at least. Don't invite them to social events, and refuse to attend social events if they're invited. Fire them if you employ them. If they're your children, cut them off financially. Tell them to their face.that they're traitors. Tell them that they're either evil or naive. Belittle and humiliate them in front of their peers.
THIS IS ALL LEGAL AND CONSTITUTIONAL... Political ideology isn't a protected characteristic. It is perfectly legal (and morally imperative) to discriminate against them.
In CA and NY Political Activity is protected for employment discrimination. I’m not aware of any conservative suing successfully based on that though.
The reason why this problem exists is because conservatives believe in freedom of speech and live and let live, whereas leftists believe that certain ideas are evil and those who espouse them must be routed out and destroyed.
Thus the freedom to let leftists exist is the freedom to let leftists destroy you.
The only solution is to ban them altogether. Not because you want to control them but precisely because they want to control you.

Most people avoided politics and religion which I think is good, but people could still discuss these subjects on occasion. Especially when there was a big election or other event, people did discuss politics and it was good because you both got to hear an unfiltered point of view.
This was normal healthy America. The thing that changed is that the democrat party no longer has the same end goal of making America a better place for all. Back then, ALL parties agreed that they wanted to make America great, no matter how much they disagreed, both sides loved the flag and 4th of July and were patriotic.
Now, they want to dismantle America and give it away to the lowest bidders! Neither side can speak to each other without getting upset. One side hates America and its founding, thinks it is racist to its core. And the other loves the American ideals and wants to strive to live up to those and make it better. Watch JFK's speech ask not what you can do... when you watch that speech and others, he is more 'right wing' than most of our most conservative republicans!
