No, you should be allowed to have polite political or other discussions at work or anywhere. That is how it used to be. Most people avoided politics and religion which I think is good, but people could still discuss these subjects on occasion. Especially when there was a big election or other event, people did discuss politics and it was good because you both got to hear an unfiltered point of view.

This was normal healthy America. The thing that changed is that the democrat party no longer has the same end goal of making America a better place for all. Back then, ALL parties agreed that they wanted to make America great, no matter how much they disagreed, both sides loved the flag and 4th of July and were patriotic.

Now, they want to dismantle America and give it away to the lowest bidders! Neither side can speak to each other without getting upset. One side hates America and its founding, thinks it is racist to its core. And the other loves the American ideals and wants to strive to live up to those and make it better. Watch JFK's speech ask not what you can do... when you watch that speech and others, he is more 'right wing' than most of our most conservative republicans!
