They're not "progressive", either. They're throwbacks to feudalism who keep hijacking good words to make them work against their original meanings. They do it to cloak their true agenda in order to seduce a new generation of suckers. Their agenda is nothing less than the stealing of sovereignty from the citizenry, and their reduction to serfdom.
