Brilliant. Another way I've heard this is the Boiling Frog.

Per wikipedia:

The boiling frog is a fable describing a frog being slowly boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. The story is often used as a metaphor for the inability or unwillingness of people to react to or be aware of sinister threats that arise gradually rather than suddenly.

Thanks for sharing!

Ah I see. Very good to know. Had never heard the term salami tactics before.

It's like a demoralization campaign used to subvert things independently on multiple fronts. Death by a thousand cuts type stuff.

Fascinating terminology, thanks for sharing.

I'm gonna be honest with you - nobody is winning any argument using the word Salami.

I like what you're saying, and I agree with the spirit of your post.

But it just sounds too silly on it's face that no one will take you seriously. Any chance of finding like, some cooler sounding version of the word? Like the latin version of salami or something?

I mean, this is the first I've heard of the salami slicing scenario and I can certainly say I'm sold. Who doesn't like salami?

Though had I read 'Salami Tactics' by itself, without an explanation, I probably would have thought that it was a tactic where the speaker masks the weakness of his argument/unpleasantness of his proposal by using a delicious food metaphor to occupy the minds of his opponents/audience with thoughts of said food. "Mmm, salami."

"salami tactic" is an unfortunate term considering we're talking about normalizing things like boning kids and chemically castrating pre pubescent boys

Slippery Slope is real as fck. They said it was a fallacy precisely because it was real as fck. You doubt me? Well, look at what the "slippery slope" people said would happen, versus what the "slippery slope is a fallacy" people said would never happen. Trannies reading to kids, pedos in dresses using the girls' bathroom, little boys being allowed to cut their dicks off at age 8. Anyone who says "slippery slope is a fallacy" can enjoy the faggoty feeling of my boot going straight up his ass.

It's probably not worth splitting the hairs, but "slippery slope" doesn't necessarily mean unintended consequences - it means consequences that can be foreseen, given the current trajectory, regardless of whether they are intentional or unintentional. Those who argue that it is a fallacy try to say that one set of actions doesn't necessarily lead to another, while proponents say, yes, one set of actions DOES lead to another, whether you meant them to or not.

Biden & Cluntons were openly against same sex marriage. Trump was openly supportive and he still is.

There is no correlation.

The slippery slope is Netflix broadcasting Cuties & Hollyweird openly celebrating Polansky (multiple rapes using drugs) & Woody Allen. Or the Bidens. All straight people that are married.
