Yes. The damage to their social development is a bonus side effect for democrats. Gotta traumatize them while they’re young.

Not really, at least not all of them. Karens notwithstanding, many parents comply because they feel if they don't they'll get into trouble with the authorities and CPS will pay them a visit. That's a pretty big and effective way to control people -- threaten to take away their kids.

Parents get threats of this all the time. Spank your child in the Wal-Mart, somebody says "omg! I'm calling the cops/CPS!" while whipping out their phone; depending upon the school your kid is in, the teachers/admin/school guidance counselor/nurse is not your friend; during the Obama years I had a friends who wound up homeless....the social workers basically encouraged their kids to resist attempts to discipline them and to snitch on their parents to the social workers if the kids got spanked. And people have heard these sorts of stories....so they become afraid, understandably so. It's easy to say "they should stand up", and maybe they should...but let's realize that threats to one's kids/family are a great way to force compliance, and we can't get too judgmental against individual people here -- we should be pissed off at the system that is trying (and succeeding in) controlling innocent people like this.
