Dude I quit my marketing career to become a musical artist. Best decision I ever made. The competition looks weak these days. I’m hoping to make pop/rock great again. Also, marketing is very little about being creative especially if you work for a big company.

It was a soul killer for me personally, they want you to walk lock step with upper managements shitty ideas and wokeness. Plus you gotta deal with the NPC talk in the office. Gross!

36
Current_Year_Acct 36 points ago +36 / -0

I haven't worked in it since the wokeness took over. When I worked in it, we were making fake job websites to trick poor kids into going to for profit colleges who had strong ties to the companies that will give them predatory loans, and sold bogus clean energy to get grants from the government.

Not proud of it, but you sure can't call that woke.

Additionally, you had a marketing career. Guessing you didn't go to college for "art".

17
WhiteLash 17 points ago +17 / -0

Nope. Business major. I’m not claiming to be brilliant as an 18 year old, but even then I knew “if you’re good as an artist why the hell do you need a degree in it?!”

11
Current_Year_Acct 11 points ago +11 / -0

Fair enough; and I totally agree. The folks who go to college to major in art are the ones I'm talking about who I've never been impressed by, while it usually seems like they're not especially bright or talented, but really want people to imagine them as "artists" having some intangible value while never having to show it.

From what I gather about art school it's 60+% bullshit and maybe 40% technique. Art should be taught like it was in the days of the old masters, and how technical arts are still taught - mainly with apprenticeships.

Depends on the school and the students. Some art schools focus on producing working arts who go into industry.

I've always have paid attention to the amount of leftist propaganda that is transmitted via advertisement. It's been going on every since I could remember and I'm 60 with a great memory. Things have gotten much worse. Notice the scarcity of boys. Almost all children are girls. With only a few exceptions, the only time you see a boy is if there are a lot of children. Another example is that every time someone is shown getting a new dog, its always from the pound.

I can't tell you how many artists I've tried to convince that the most important skill they need is to know how to make money from their art.

The only "artists" I know that even came close to making money were the females that married for money, but they were almost all shitty artists.

5
Losersloseagain2020 5 points ago +5 / -0

Theu dont have agents. I understand left brain right brain. By default they wont be good at money. But find someone with the brains to manage

1
Kolob 1 point ago +1 / -0

Some people have both left and right brain, especially if they work at it. Those are the successful ones, or they find a spouse to market them.

1
Losersloseagain2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

Usually get someone else. Thats the safer bet. You may be ok mentally that doesnt mean you have the time or the experience to handle the money part

2
Kolob 2 points ago +2 / -0

What you say is true in general. I am a career housewife and my other half is brilliant, but I handle the money and investments because that alone is a full time job. There is no way he could do what he has done or would have as high a net worth without me. Now that the kids are all grown we are more collaborative.

2
Losersloseagain2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

yes a partner will be ideal. Agents are not honest and will not fight as hard as a partner

3
Kolob 3 points ago +3 / -0

I knew one growing up, but he was a salesman first. He dropped out of selling paint, of all things, and became a metal sculptor. He had large numbers of city people driving to the middle of nowhere up a dirt road to his showings. Eventually he started a gallery and now there are at least 2 locations and the kids run them. He did not like how galleries were run and made his own. For any Oregonians out there they were the Lawrence Galleries. Very nice people.

When I went to film school over 90% of people there, and in any art school I would imagine, were far more concerned with their image than with making anything substantial, original or even just fun. The worst of them were trying to get their shitty student documentaries or narrative short into the fucking Cannes Film Festival. Absolute zero self-awareness. Most baffling to me were the three people in each class that were only interested in making cheap b-movies or slasher movies; like, dude, whoever you idolize that made slasher movies just did it with fake blood and a camera. It's the cheapest thing you could choose to make. You could make it with the cost of tuition ffs.

Anyway, the real problem with "creatives" today is that no one reads books. It's particularly bad with filmmakers; not only do they just watch obscure art house movies because that's all Tarantino ever did (or so they think), but they outright try to copy his pastiche style and fail.

3
Smurfection 3 points ago +3 / -0

I have a relative that went to film school. During that time and afterward, all she did was talk about how she would never make children's movies or super hero movies. She wanted to make movies that had an impact and would raise consciences about our culture. She fit right in with David Mamet's book about film students who all think they're artists but don't even have the creativity or work ethic to put out a children's movie. btw, I once told her, family movies and kid's movies are the serious money makers in Hollywood but she despised them and wouldn't debase her art for money. I don't know how anyone "sells their soul" by making Toy Story or A good princess movie. Anyway, she ended up filming depositions, started a rock band that toured Europe and she's now managing the careers of other rock bands that tour Europe. (btw, touring Europe as a rock band is kind of a big scheme. The bands pay the "managers" for the privilege of touring.)

I think blm faggots are way worse than the alphabet people.

I recently went to a army reclass school and there was a black liberal New York blm faggot in the class. Everything was racist (that shit was actually funny to me and I laughed in his face on multiple occasions)

The worst “everything is racist” from him was when I was talking a different individual about how all military installations should honor my ccw and allow me to carry on base. Blm faggot pipped in that it’s not fair for blacks who have felonies bc they can’t walk into a gun shop and buy a gun. That was the exact flow of the conversation and I was so dumbfounded by how retarded he was it took me like 30 seconds of mouth agape before I responded.

Blm faggots are the worst. His WiFi was named “blm” and mine was/is “Bill clinton is a rapist.” We shared a common area. Dude hated my guts and it still makes me laugh.

9

1

It is not as if anyone did not know. I remember my mom telling me Rock Hudson was gay years before AIDS came along. No one cared.

1
thebesig 1 point ago +1 / -0

I've seen the meme going around comparing two different gays. One was a respectable citizen who didn't push LGBT onto people's faces and the other was portrayed with multicolored hair and was described as pushing his gayness on everyone. The idea was that the one who posted the meme respected the respectable citizen but not the one doing the flaunting.

I have been working on a science fiction graphic novel off and on for about 15 years. It takes place 160 years after a leftist designed virus crashes civilization and Communists and their spawn take over the whole world save a few heavily defended areas. The introductory story is from the perspective of soldiers in the collectives army working to invade and take over a conservative area.

A critical point is that schools in the collective are brainwashing institutions that destroy the students ability to think correctly. The teachers were all students. They can barely do their job. Students are graduating with intact minds but the teachers are too stupid and blind to reality to notice.

The other critical point is that the brainwashed are so enslaved by their preconceptions and biases that the collective count some rebel groups as their own because of trivial surface appearance. This is exploited heavily by the freedom fighters who have infiltrated the military.

I've only have 4 story arcs mapped out in detail so far. The initial pilot arc which is the origin story of the main character, two support character back story arcs, and an historical arc that explains the world of the main story line. I haven't worked on it for 5 years because I got hired by a major corporation and have been focusing on work. I would like to have at least 6 mainline arcs mapped out before I try to publish. Now I'm focused on writing up the mathematics I have been developing. Btw, the core theorems will be taught in the story once I get back to it. Maybe next summer. I'm probably going to be losing my job so I'll have free time.

I am targeting high school kids. The story will teach independent thinking, the scientific process, and (my) observation theory. I intend it to be a stealth red pill to counter act the damage done by Marxist educators. It is supposed to be an antidote to group-think programming.

It will have a lefty-sugar coating so a cursory overview of the first parts will be attractive to those who aim to destroy our culture. The red pills lay hiden. This makes the story hard to design. The two back stories are pretty awful. Leftist will love them. No one will guess that a conservative Christian is the author.

But my brothers are older millenials and didn’t “grow up with the Internet” like we did. I’ve seen all sides of the argument while they’ve only used the surface level Internet.

That’s the biggest difference between gen Z and millenial imo, millenials use the Internet but we USE the Internet.

There's maybe, MAYBE like 10,000 actual hard-core racist separatist types in the entire country, and none of them with any significant social or economic clout.

Even 100,000 would be nothing in a country of 330 million. What's stormfront's daily viewership rate? Charlottesville managed to attract , what , like 1,000 white supremacist types? And that was like their hardest push, the most they could get.

Culture and genetics are still connected though, for example Asians tend to be far more collectivist than northern Europeans, and this is reflected in basically all their cultures. Does this mean all Asians are collectivist? Of course not, it follows a normal distribution like every other trait, but you're going to get more collectivists from a randomly sampled set of Asians than from a equal numbered randomly sampled set of Northern Europeans.

Genetics aren't everything when it comes to behavioral traits, but that doesn't at all mean they're nothing.

2
PeytonManThing 2 points ago +3 / -1

WS? And bro, I don’t need statistics to figure out the causation behind failed states in Africa and the failure of Venezuela, and Mexico. It’s not white supremacy. It’s pretty hard to say whites are somehow superior to Jews or Asians. But you’ll figure it out eventually, that the races really are different and have different tendencies and these differences matter. It’s not magic that blacks commit ten times the violent crime. Nor is it their poverty. It’s not magic that their families are falling apart. And it’s not the fault of white people either. Eventually people’s genomes will be created in labs instead of naturally and it won’t matter any more. But it’s real. You can call it racist. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Men are far far more likely to rape and murder than women. I guess that’s sexist? Doesn’t make it false.

"The democrats are the real racist" is a perfect way to destroy your children's ability to defend themselves.

I'm Asian, let me say this:

White people have an absolute right to advocate for their own interests.

You have an absolute right to prefer the company of your own people.

Racial differences are a real thing, there is a difference in IQ.

In addition, white people are better looking than everyone else. (Asians might have the edge if we look at the post 40 cohort). Demographic change will permanently affect both the appearance and IQ of your country.

Lastly, civic nationalism will not be enough to save the west.

A cuckservative is someone that will sell out his people, culture and civilization because he's afraid of being called a "racist".

Every day in the halls of Congress most Americans are having decisions made by the most populous states and their representatives.

The electoral college eliminates their popular vote tyranny once every four years as a way for the rest of the states to check and balance them. Truly a brilliant form of governance- if we can preserve it.

I hope he goes a step further and finds a way to protect political views too.

A friend of mine is going to university right now to be a social worker. He texted me two pictures from his textbook from one of his classes. I realized after talking to him that he 100% believed what the book was saying and was trying to show me some "evidence" showing conservatives are bad. It used a study that reviewed material from a number of countries, so he put more value on it than it was worth.

The book talks about some research done back in 2003 or so and they found that political conservatives are fearful and aggressive, and if they're properly told about how to use basic reasoning skills, then the slogans used in political campaigns don't affect them and they won't vote for the conservative candidate. So conservatives are fearful, aggressive, stupid, and easily manipulated. Essentially "conservatives are bad" in the classroom. This is a quick summary of that page and leaves more characteristics out, but this portion irritated me the most.

As long as universities are allowed to teach things like that as fact, then we'll only be delaying the spread of anti-american rhetoric and CRT rather than stopping it.

I went to high school back in the 1980s. Most of our teachers were liberal, but they didn't force their liberal beliefs on us. They cared more about applying yourself to your course requirements. As long as you could present an argument and back it, they were happy with that.

Prior to high school, I was among a few students in the whole school that supported Ronald Reagan (Minnesota). We didn't get harassed, get grades docked, etc., nor did we get negative treatment when Ronald Reagan won re-election by teacher or fellow student. My friends didn't abandon me, nor did I abandon those that supported Mondale.

We understood that differences in opinion was not justification for ending a friendship or for subjecting one side to speech restraints.

4
naraset 4 points ago +4 / -0

I went though my parents yearbook, from roughly the 1960s. They literally were able to have high school clubs for different parties, debates, and there was even a basic ANTIFA group that got a full page in the book about bringing down capitalism. It's really funny how sensitive and adverse to conflict we are now. Like any possibility people get mad we just don't even allow it anymore.

1
thebesig 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yup, we had that diversity as well when it came to clubs that highlighted people's talents and special interests.

not if you go to STEM. If you are a STEM student and some idiot grades you like this you can get this moron fired for subjectivity.

Back in the 80's one of my fellow students fought her grade to the dean and won.

Good. I'm an older millennial and even when I was in college, we were all left wing, but still found the LGBT activist types obnoxious as fuck. No doubt they're a thousand times worse now.

A NEW HOPE

7
SikoraP13 7 points ago +7 / -0

Good on ya pede. Gives me a little bit of hope as well. I'd really encourage you and your friends who are conservative to go back and read through the federalist and antifederalist papers.

The arguments back then were literally over how best to constrain the evils of government, not whether to, and I've found it really instructive at 30.

Also, never forget the originally proposed text of the 2nd amendment by Madison:

The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; a well armed and well regulated militia being the best security of a free country: but no person religiously scrupulous of bearing arms shall be compelled to render military service in person.

And if you're more curious on 2A specifically to have some fun at your teachers' expense, Congress passed An Act More Effectually to Provide for the National Defence, by Establishing an Uniform Militia Throughout the United States on May 8th, 1792, which clearly stated:

Each and every free able-bodied white male citizen of the respective States, resident therein, who is or shall be of age of eighteen years, and under the age of forty-five years (except as is herein after excepted) shall severally and respectively be enrolled in the militia.

B-b-but muh Nat'l Guard

The Militia Act of 1903 again states that:

the militia shall consist of every able-bodied citizen between eighteen and forty-five, and divides the militia into two classes - the organized militia or National Guard, and the unorganized or reserve militia.

The same act goes on to say:

Rifle ranges also are needed, not only for the National Guard, but also for the citizen population. To shoot well is a large part of the education of the soldier; and if the Government can arouse such an interest in shooting, in not only the organized but also the unorganized militia, that our male population shall be familiar with the accurate use of the rifle, we shall have gone far towards evening up the advantage the foreigner gains by his universal conscription.

Absolutely. Knowing this shit inside and out makes it so much easier to explain stuff to debunk these people. And I'm an engineer by schooling and trade, I just enjoy history and civics as a hobby.

Another fun fact. As much as I love GEOTUS, he's not our greatest President. He's #2.
#1, James K. Polk. The only President to have previously been Speaker of the House. Was also a governor and advised Andrew Jackson on his successful Presidential bid. Completed every single domestic and foreign policy goal in a single term and left office after pledging to only run once. Responsible for winning the Mexican American War (resulting in the Mexican Cession), brought Texas into the fold, and negotiated the acquisition of the Oregon Territory, so basically all land West of the Rockies is America because of James K. Polk.

They're losing people. Their narrative is straight insanity, even to young impressionable minds.

Love this. I love your generation. You guys don't take any one's word without searching online to see for yourself. You all fill me with optimism for the future.

Thanks for sharing. Wish you could vote tomorrow. You can still hand out red pills!

Shit we only had burnouts and jocks. Gays were “there” but everyone left them to do their gay stuff (which was everything back then lol).

My son is in middle school and the pendulum is swinging back. The loud ass gender bullshit is eyerolled, kind of going back to the “don’t care bro, leave me out if it and don’t want to see it.”

There’s hope.

I retired a few months ago from teaching English in Los Angeles. About a third of my students were reliably conservative, and they were all Latino. And it was almost always the hard workers. Lazy trouble-makers were 99% liberal. I only ever met one kid who wasn't. (His family owned their own business, so.)

Nice to know, though, isn't it? My students used to come to me to talk politics because there were only about 4 conservative teachers in the whole school.

Just remember the cognitive dissonance. People on the left have the ability to sometimes think rationally but when it comes time to voting that way they become retarded.

I remember being the second most conservative kid in class as a Libertarian in Nebraska 15-20 years ago. Watching the young people swing from left wing rebels under Bush to right wing rebels in the later Obama years and into Trump's time was very interesting.
