I’m Hispanic and I see how decisions impact us everyday.
You go to the hood, you see $60k+ vehicles all over the places living in homes worth under $100k. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
It’s not just one per home. The dad drives the big F-250 and the moms drive a big ass suburban or Tahoe. Both relatively new of course.
Then the kids in the school get free lunches, and never have “money” for school supplies. The parents don’t buy all the items on the list and the teachers end up having to spend a large amount of their paycheck to make up for it.
They piss away money on what depreciates and don’t ever invest any of their money. They don’t have jobs with 401k’s and they don’t put away enough money to ever retire. Then they’ll bitch that the government is to blame why they don’t live in nicer neighborhoods and better schools.
If you wouldn’t have pissed away the $500k on vehicles you could have used that money on a nicer home in a better neighborhood. Nah, you chose to have a fly ass ride because it’s a status symbol.
getting a fly ass ride takes time and patients. it took me 15 years to save for mine. I wanted one nice thing. a car was important to me. so i saved enough to buy 4 of them if i wanted. best purchase/investment... not so much. but i really wanted that car. 0 debt, extra cash, nice investments, cash to buy whatever. debt is the eater of your future. all of that took time. if you can not wait you will spend it as fast as you get it.
Yes Sir, when you get to the point where you have expendable cash have fun with it. I'm debt free as well, I have a truck, a few motorcycles, and a classic mustang.
Like you said, it took a lot of hard work and sacrifice to get here. I had to say no to my friends when they wanted to go clubbing so I could study for a test. I ate sandwiches when my friends wanted to go eat at nice restaurants. I drank beers in the parking lot because I didn't want to pay for booze inside the club.
Those same friends are now living paycheck to paycheck and ALL of them are renting. They don't even have a home they're mortgaging. Meanwhile I have my home paid for, own several rental properties, and money is not something I stress about.
This is the greatest country in the world. I wouldn't be able to live the way I do in any other country with just putting in hard work and dedication.

You can’t help people who are their worst enemy.
