Normally 10% for bond

the full $2M is required for this case. They did not allow 10% surety.

Its also confusing due to "bail" and "bond" being interchangeable. Yes, the full 2 mill will need to be paid to get him out. Some states allow for 10%. But if a bondsman is willing to back the bail, then it would be the normal 10% to them. But I could be wrong too.

That's what I would think, but you'd also have to find bondsman willing to do so. With all the politics involved I wouldn't be surprised if most refuse.

I hope not. Its not like he is a flight risk on such a high profile case. He turned himself in too so I would think that would help. But, with how fucking dumb this whole thing has been, who knows anymore.

In the hearing the prosecution argued and judge agreed since he turned himself in without knowing the charges, he's a flight risk and should have a $2M bail set. The judge had the "victims" speak as well and they wanted higher bail saying that people are raising money for Kyle and that militia's will hide him. Prosecution also said that his family moved without providing the new address and said Kyle might hide at said unknown location. The defense made a good argument imo, but it looked like the judge was a bit biased with how he spoke (idk anything about him outside of this hearing).

The full 2 mill is paid to get him out, but a bail bondsman will normally only charge 10% of that and pay the other 90%.

I am not sure that is how it works. Either they have a bail or its denied. Its not the courts who are doing the bond, that is bond company.

I'm not sure how it all works over there in Wisconsin, but here's some more info if it helps clear some stuff up. https://wcca.wicourts.gov/caseDetail.html?caseNo=2020CF000983&countyNo=30&index=0&mode=details

Also, I believe this is where at least some of the bail laws are at, but most of it's greek to me. https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/statutes/statutes/969

To me the vast sum of money seems just. Even the lives of dirty scum have to mean something tangible and the word is out for Kyle. He won't have trouble making that bill.
