I'd like to thank Gavin Newson for trying to ban church attendance and turning almost all members of California congregations into single-issue voters. For roughly the last 20-30 years the most common attitude I've seen among most Christians was non-participation. "The Lord's will be done" and so forth.

Not this year.

This year after showing up for services one morning to find the door locked and a sign saying "See you online!" ruining her 70+ year attendance streak, my elderly neighbor has had enough. Today I drove her to the voting center in my town so she could vote Trump.

She's not the only one. I know a lot of sermons began this weekend with the following opening remarks:

As a registered non-profit, we are bound by state law to remain apolitical. We cannot endorse any political party or candidate. However, we can state the fact that one political party has worked to ban church attendance and even singing, and threaten them with fines for meeting together. The other political party believes that worship is a Constitutionally-protected God-given right and must be allowed no matter what. If you don't know which is which, please talk to me after services and as a private citizen I would be more than happy to tell you.
