What they missed or aren't able to factor in, and this goes for all lockdown authoritarian states, is the scamdemic. It's affected D's and hurt them as well as red voters. It may not be a factor at all, but it's the one factor or element that is dramatically different than any past election. The D's have really hurt people and continue to do so.

Voting for Trump is a way to say F You to the Governor destroying your life even if you still think the Orange Man is bad. #RevengeVoting. In WA the same dynamic is happening. Imho deep blue states would be easier to flip than purple staes because Democrats are so smug about always winning that they're complacent about voting. They stay in power because everyone else falsely believes resistance is futile ie there's no point in voting. #EveryVoteMatters!!!
