She’s was goddamn Greek. The Ptolemies didn't have any native blood in their veins. They mostly kept it in the family or married other Greeks. Namely members of the Selucid royal family.
Egyptians were light skinned until the Nubian Dynasty, around 700 BC. The Nubians invaded from present Sudan, and conquered Egypt. The portraits of the Pharaohs from this dynasty show their brown skin, as opposed to the light skin of previous Pharaohs.
And then Alexander the Great from Macedonia kicked all of their asses and the descendants of his General, Ptolomy, including Cleopatra, ruled Egypt for the next 275 years. Their demise came at the hands of the Romans.
But still, Cleopatra clearly wasn't a black woman. But why would the cancel culture and woke party of inclusion let little things like facts get in their way of re-writing history?
Besides the fact thar she was Greek the Nubian rule over Egypt didn’t last terribly long as the Assyrians came a knocking, after which the last native dynasty took over before the Persians and Greeks took over.
Bunch of clowns, she was Greek.
Came here to say this. Why bother explaining it? Let them be dumb.
Facts are your friend :)
She was black on Xena Warrior Princess. What more do they want?

Cleopatra, you ain't black!
This is the original cultural appropriation. Just like the afrocentrists try to co-opt Beethoven or Hannibal.

Ok. Cleopatra wasn't Egyptian though. She was the descendant of one of Alexander the greats generals, Ptololmy.
