If the Democrats lose, they’re done for at least a decade. Obama’s failures led to massive losses at the state and local level for the Dems, so they have no “bench”. The only younger Dems at this point are psychotic leftists with no hope of winning on the national stage. The Democrats put up Slow Joe because Kamala Harris cannot win a national election. If Biden loses tomorrow (and I think he will lose), Harris’s career is effectively over. She will never reach higher office than she holds now. Trump winning tomorrow will set back leftism significantly.
It's been hypothesized that the riots aren't so much the far left kicking off THE civil war off, but THEIR civil war, THEIR revolution against the Democratic Party.
You listen to the "Progressives", and they call themselves Democratic Socialists. It's a totally different Party, they are only using the Democratic Party as a springboard,
and the Democrats are happy to provide funding and branding, because they need a young, fired up base. It's the DNCs deal with the devil. And like in so many of those deals, the devil doesn't plan to abide by the rules.

I think the riots were intended to serve two purposes for the Democrats.. The far left gets to let out some steam and the Democrats got to position on "social justice" and get BLM donations funneled to funding. Only it backfired.

If a substantial number of black voters go Trump in 2020, and he makes them happy, they will ditch BLM too.

I'm calling it now, Romney is going to make another run of things in 2024 as a Democrat candidate. He'll make the case to the people running the DNC that he can bring "loads of disaffected Republicans/RINOs with him."
The closest parallel to this election is Labour's huge loss in 1983 - their platform was called "the longest suicide note in history" - and they didn’t get back into power until 1997.
The thing to watch out for is the Dems pseudo-purging the kooks, but then bringing back all the kook policies with a smiling humane face.

GEOTUS will have all comers compete for his endorsement, this will be the real 2024 primary.
I've been saying this for over a year. Geotus will decide the republican nominee until he dies. His endorsement will be the only important factor.
