Presumably, she's an elector for Biden, so no chance of that.

The people don't elect the President at all, the people choose a set of Electors that each party in that state has chosen. The victorious group of Electors then cast their votes directly for the President and Vice President at the Electoral College.

Exactly what he said. This is why the “Faithless electors” scenario in 2016 was completely unlikely. The electors are chosen by each party and whichever party wins gets their electors to the college. There was 0% chance 37 hardcore republicans were going to hand the presidency to Clinton. In the same vein, Clinton will never get to vote for trump in the electoral college.

Ohhhhh well fuck I guess this poll doesn't make much sense then, but we can still dream :-)

Yes, each Party selects their electors. The losing party's electors stay home when the Electoral College meets in December.

I bet $1 million that she would be a faithless electorate.

Yeah if I recall correctly there isn't much law written around punishing faithless electors...this was talked about a lot in 2016.

I don't believe so, either. Could you imagine if this is how they have planned to cheat? They have strategically placed Democrats throughout the country to vote for Biden no matter what. The horror..........

Read u/PenguinBurrito 's comment below, he says this is not how it works and that electors are chosen separately for each party.

I so dig this Presidency. The Civics engagement is off the charts. I remember people tuning in or watching the Electoral College counts in each state and in Congress on YouTube.

That was not a thing - people totally watching the process - before.

There's lots of other examples but that was the first one that really stood out to me. And a more engaged voting public makes up for Civics classes falling out of favor in education (suspiciously) - or at least is a good start.

Owning the process makes for more active participation, and even better candidates. It's cool on so many levels.

NY doesn't have those. They're a ... hang on what the hell are they called ... ah, yes - Unpledged electors. They don't have such a pledge, so no faithless electors. I 'think' about a third of the states fall into that category.

Bitch won't, she's still not in jail. She's untouchable and she knows it.

She won't. She'll break the law, instead and lie about it. Not a tough prediction.
