Yes Closed captioning isn't perfect yet, which is why an ASL interpreter is better than closed captioning for quality purposes.

Captioning often get delayed or doesn't show up for some reason. I have had this convo with someone a long time about when they claimed it was for virtue signaling but it's really not. ASL signers on T.V. has been around for maybe 50 years now so it's not something new. They usually have ASL interpreters during crises like hurricanes, floods, fire etc and now for the China Flu.

But for the Biden campaign, THAT is virtue signaling as he's attempting to reach out to the deaf community and AFAIK, it's working. I know quite a lot of deaf people who are voting for Biden while I'm the loner here voting for Trump.

It's always very cool to read the POVs from people with uncommon perspectives. I learned a lot from your comments, thanks deaf pede

How did they sign him saying trzynmanapama or whatever it was? How do they deal with Biden’s general slurring and incoherence? I really want to know!

I posted this a while ago: https://twitter.com/BarbMorgenroth/status/1310211699081973760

He doesn't look like a fluent signer but basically, his response is pretty much on point.

I have yet to see an interpreter making an attempt to sign or at least fingerspell that trumin whatever, but then again, I don't watch Biden.
