The internet as we know it didn't arise until graphical browsers were made available which didn't happen until 1993. People were online, but if you mentioned the word "internet" in 1990 no one would know what you're talking about.

Yeah but the internet in 1990 wasn't the internet in 2020. No wikipedia, no youtube no major news networks. There was fuck all on the internet in the 90's

I think they way I phrased the part about the 90 and no internet could have been done better.

What I was trying saying was "He's acting like it's the 1990's, and the internet hadn't been invented yet"

More as a hypothetical situation than the reality of 90's internet.

Before information was so widely and instantly available a politican could just go to say Pennsylvania and say "we love oil and your jobs are safe" then go to California and say "were going to end american dependence on oil" essentially just playing to the crowd wherever they are without any push back.

And that's really alot of Joe's campaign summed up. He tells the lies he needs to tell to the specific crowd he's playing to.
