To those of you who missed early voting and are voting TODAY November 3rd...

My US Veteran family has traveled across vast U-boat infested oceans, and marched thru the mud and muck of the Somme', they stormed the beaches and hedgerows of Normandy France, they fought on the frozen waste lands of Korea, and crawled on their bellies in the snake infested jungles of Vietnam, they traveled the IED laden roads of Iraq and the sniper infested mountains of Afghanistan. Our family have marched thousands of miles around the globe and shed buckets of blood, sweat, and tears for this country,...

And all my Family asks of You,... Is for you to march your butt down to the polls and vote, and prove to the world that our US military families sacrifice was not in vain.

Thank you and God bless.

The Somme happened before America entered the Great War, FWIW.

I bet your smashing at party's.

Thought I'd point that out before a Brit does

< post of me incorrectly doubting this guy's story, removed because I was wrong, and we’re all in together, especially today >

2
BulletsForTeeth 2 points ago +2 / -0

My grandfather served in the US Calvary in WW1,... He was there during the Somme'. I can retrace my family history back 250 years, and yes a family member of my own flesh and blood served in every conflict and war I listed. You can believe whatever you want smart ass, frankly I don't give a damn what you believe.

1
Magafactured 1 point ago +1 / -0

But that’s not what you said, was it? Until now. Think about it: Somebody wanted clarification, and as I stated, your smart-ass reply wasn't it.

You’re a new acct, it’s election day, and the truth matters here.

Thanks for the clarification - you and your family are the best of America, and is my fervent wish that we maintain the republic that all of our ancestor patriot soldiers have entrusted us with.

MAGA, let's go!

There were plenty of Americans who were still over there, fighting on behalf of other nations.

Based.

My family are either apolitical and not voting, rest of them are liberal- blue no matter who types.

And I'm in Florida. Traitors want to see the whole country turn into San Francisco or Portland.

dukeofdoorcounty 5 points ago +5 / -0

Like my neighbors in N Dallas.

5
unclebobinator 5 points ago +5 / -0

My neighbors are based at least. One is the silent majority type until he saw me wear a Trump 2020 shirt. Then he smiled bigly like we just became best friends.

Whereas my family acts like I'm an evil fascist supporter. Enjoy your TDS and pedo candidate weirdos. Going to be an uncomfortable Thanksgiving.

Fellow NY pede, ready for action.

5
the_snuke 5 points ago +5 / -0

Fellow NY. Scanning machine is apparently not working. They want us to drop off unscanned ballots into machine to be scanned later. Any others experiencing this?

2
Magafactured 2 points ago +2 / -0

If I'm understanding your situation correctly, we were warned about this tactic explicitly. (Could be wrong)

I have read one or two posts here over the last couple weeks where people have been told that the machine was broken, and when the voter said “OK, I’ll wait.”, the machine magically started working again soon after.

I believe the point was that they can just set certain ballots aside in a pile, then scan in the ones they want later, eliminating your vote.

I have no first-hand experience nor advice for you, maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can chip in.

Go vote and don't take any shit from the place you work. IT"S YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE and any attempt to curb you from doing so is suppression and in my opinion treason.

Vote like your life depends on it.

11
FragrantDude 11 points ago +11 / -0

Just FYI, voting is legally protected leave from work like jury duty. If your work doesn't allow for reasonable absence to go vote, they could be held legally liable. This is also federal law, so there is no variation among states.

5
JmReBox 5 points ago +5 / -0

but that won't keep them from trying, especially in liberal states.

Working from home (fuck ChynaFlu), but will try to vote during lunch break. My polling place usually isn't very crowded at all in the middle of the day. Should the line be too long, it'll be the first place I go after clocking out.

Michigan, Macomb County lines are the longest I have ever seen for the first full hour the polls are open. My husband and I were there 20 minutes before the polls opened and the line was already the longest I have ever seen and it did not get any shorter by the time we left.
