He was in the 14th Armored for part of his time, I believe right after liberation of Dachau, but I'm unsure. All I know is that he saw that camp.
He has stories that strike awe into any man. Hiding behind splintering trees as the forrest was shelled by 88's. Seeing paratroopers dot the sky in the distance as he marched. Being buried alive in a Foxhole, but that it was a German Foxhole saved his life. A dud landing close to him, whew! Feeling in the muck and water as in order to set his own, he had to dismantle German explosives.
And I know when the Army tested him he was determined to be a literal genius, but his mind is as sharp as a tack; his vocabulary is impressive and he can recite full poems he read as a kid at 99!

I think ballot location is determined "randomly" or by drawing lots in many states. It's not always alphabetical.
I voted for a judge who was excited to have drawn the #3 spot as it was her lucky number and also where she won previously.
