About to vote, but was lazy / busy prior to today regarding research.
According to Ballotpedia, we've got:
- President (no brainer, MAGA)
- U.S. House New Jersey District 1: which is Donald Norcross (D, incumbent) vs. Claire Gustafson (R) ) I don't know that Claire Gustafson is MAGA or not...
U.S. Senate New Jersey :
- Spartacus aka Cory Booker (D) (Incumbent) - fuck this cuck manpussy
- Rik Mehta (R) - article about Rik Mehta ... Rik Mehta's comments about Gov. Murphy's Nursing home killings via COVID make me warm inside. Any input would be appreciated.
- Madelyn Hoffman (Green Party)
- Daniel Burke (Larouche Was Right Party) -- seems like a party of nutters
- Veronica Fernandez (Of, By, For! Party)
Questions / Props :
- New Jersey Public Question 1, Marijuana Legalization Amendment (2020) - kinda want to vote no so MAGA win means GEOTUS will let states pick anyway!
- New Jersey Public Question 2, Peacetime Veterans Eligible for Property Tax Deduction Amendment (2020) - This would give veterans $250 property tax deduction even if they served only in peacetime. Right now, we do give $250 property tax to wartime serving veterans in NJ. Also this bill would make it so the widow would get the deduction... questions at bottom of this page
- New Jersey Public Question 3, Delayed State Legislative Redistricting Amendment (2020) reads as follows
Do you approve amending the Constitution to change when new legislative districts are created if the federal census data is delayed? The current COVID-19 pandemic has delayed census data collection. If New Jersey does not receive the census data in a timely manner, new legislative districts may not be ready in time for State legislative elections in the year ending in one.
Any help is appreciated. Send me your high energy and some advice regarding Senate and US District 1, et al... I heard Norcross' brother who is a powerbroker in NJ disagrees with Murphy? or Booker? So, I am not sure.
Thanks in advance!
Re the propositions, I’d vote NO on everything because:
1: Marijuana makes your brain soft.
2: Everybody should get property tax relief, not just some people.
3: Don’t reward NJ for sewing COVID fear. If they have admin problems because they hid in their basements, too bad — make up the work.
Otherwise I’d just vote Rs down. Even if Gustafson isn’t MAGA, will the Dem be better?
I feel pretty confident in Rik Mehta, from his background and a cursory look at some of the things he said. He supported Attlis Gym in Bellmawr, NJ. He's a a licensed attorney and pharmacist. In addition:
**I have serious doubts Rik Mehta can beat Spartaus in this heavily blue state, but, we'll see. **
Regarding District 1: Claire Gustafson has said:
So she might MAGA, but considering how much Norcross won in the past, it's going to be a tough win, but if she does happen to win and is a RINO, it should be fairly obvious.
In terms of the options/props I am voting no down the line, the last one is a tricky one, though. If they allow redrawing vs. postponement... it means MAGA voting can take more affect... but generally speaking as you said, they had plenty of time to do this. They were hiring people at the Board of Social Services to be Census Takers before COVID-1984.
They had the resources. I don't see to who or whom's benefit postponing redistricting helps. So, I'm leaning towards "no".
Go straight R and no on public prop 3.
All the props sounds like the shady vague boondoggle language dems use, now that I look at them.
