I went to vote when the polls opened. Got there half an hour early...was not the only one. Parking lot (which wasn’t very big) was overflowing when I left.
Actual, professional, honest, investigative journalism is supposed to do the job of shedding light on that underbelly, but maybe point-something percent of everyone working in that industry today is at all reliable.
It was disheartening (though not surprising) to hear Glenn Greenwald talk about his colleagues refusing to report negative stories on Biden or positive ones on Trump, for fear of "helping Trump get re-elected". I don't want to hear another one of these charlatans act offended and prattle on about the sanctity of a free press when the truth is way down on their list of priorities, well behind serving their corporate news masters and blatantly, knowingly interfering in our electoral process. Our own media has tampered with things about 10,000x more than any Russian/Chinese/Iranian agent, and without a real, functioning press, we have far less of a chance of actually draining the swamp and reforming our system.
I voted early, in a very liberal area. Lots of unfriendly and stiff people. I was probably the only one having a little fun while there. Long line. Cold rain. Thankfully I had my fever to keep me warm!
