Please help me understand something. I voted for the first time a couple of weeks ago (in person) and I made my picks on a machine, went next, next, next, until I was done and then pushed the button that said something like "cast your vote." I didn't have to scan any ballot, it was all on a machine.
Can someone please explain to me why I didn't have to "scan a ballot" like I hear many say they had to do?
States set up thier voting systems, so your state doesn't do physical ballots. Paper ballots are internationally recognized as better for election security, as a physical records can be compared to software results.
