I voted in Austin, TX and wanted to share what it was like. GO VOTE.

You find your precinct online and show up to your location. You find the end of the line and wait. When you are up, they give you a finger condom type of thing (covid) to put over your finger for the touch pad. You show your valid ID and they make sure you are who you say you are. They then print out a very long (about 2 feet) piece of paper and give it to you. On it is your DL information, name, address, etc.

You take this long piece of paper over to a voting machine and insert it. The voting machine sucks it up then presents you with the options. You simply touch the candidates you want, page by page until you are through. Once complete the machine prompts you to verify all is correct and that you cant change choices after you proceed. Once you affirm, the machine spits your long piece of paper back out but this time has a print out of all your choices on it. This machine is not hooked up to the network.

You then take this long piece of paper over to a machine that sits over a large bin lined with a bag. Everyone uses this same machine and this machine is hooked up to the network. You insert your piece of paper and the machine tabulates your choices and adds them to the state wide and local results when it reads it. Your paper falls out the bottom of this machine and is later bagged up and stored. When the machine has added your votes to the state wide and local totals - as in your vote is counted - it gives you a notice that, "Your vote has been tabulated" and you have voted. You get your "I VOTED" sticker and proudly walk out having served your CIVIC DUTY.

Please go vote!

YOUR REPUBLIC IS DEPENDING ON YOU!
