If you can get yourself and others to wait there for them to open so you can put your ballot in. Put the pressure on these corrupt staffers to fix their “broken” machines, if there’s enough people doing this I suspect these machines will get fixed very fast
I dont know how you precinct works, but machines go down all the time. It happened to me in 2018. If you signed in and they gave you a ballot, they must count THAT ballot. They can't just make a bunch of ballots disappear or swap it out with another ballot. All have to be accounted for.
A ballot cannot just dissappear. If you signed in, there has to be a ballot attributed to you. A ballot cannot be counted incorrectly. Either the machine will get fixed and recount all the ballots and/or there will be a hand count. A "spoiled" ballot must be replaced by a good ballot. The normal number of spoiled ballots is tiny, so if someone tried spoil a bunch of ballots and replace them it would be obvious. I think there are also safe gaurds depending on your precinct... And no one is going to risk going to jail over a handful of votes. Voting in person, with ID is relatively secure. Its the unsolicited mail-in ballots you should be worried about.
Negative. Poll Watchers can't handle ballots. The moment you give your ballot to a poll watcher, there's a credible reason why the election judge can invalidate your ballot because there's no documentation regarding how the poll watcher obtained your ballot. There's no legal chain of custody.
Please explain this process in more detail. Our machine “wasn’t working” and I witnessed a man with a key open the door to voting machine. Nothing was taken out at that point, but inside this door was where the ballots were stored.
What is to keep them from swapping/tampering with the ballots?

The scanning machine at my place was really acting up and I was waiting for them to suggest I leave it with them. No way, no how, never.

I don't know why someone downvoted you. You're right. Even spoiled ballots aren't just thrown away.
What is keeping them from switching out the ballots? Or at the very least marking another spot on the ballot which would essentially void the ballot?
They shouldn't just take your ballot. It should go into a secure box to be counted later.
This is what happened, but who is to say that it will be counted correctly when they open it back up?
What’s to stop them for swapping it with another ballot, or tampering with it to make the ballot invalid?
