Especially since there are many states have things in place that forces their electors in the Electoral College to vote on who won the national popular vote.

Those are all Dem states too. So they either have to vote for Trump if he wins the popular vote or go back on their own policies. It will be a HUGE killing blow to that movement since they would no longer be able to guarantee that the Dems would take the election that way.
